John Cena Reacts to Retirement Rumors, Addresses WWE Future After WWE No Mercy Loss
– John Cena reacted to his loss to Roman Reigns at No Mercy, responding to Jerry Lawler’s question about if he is retiring by saying on Raw Talk that his role in the company is different now. Fans were speculating about his actions after the match, particularly when several WWE stars and even the WWE Universe Twitter account were using the hashtag “#ThankYouCena” and talked about respecting him.
Cena is asked by Jerry Lawler in the video (which you can see below) if he’s retiring. Cena says he isn’t done yet and thinks his role in the company is different now. He says that regardless of outside opportunities, he’s now forty years old and has fifteen elite years in the company and while he doesn’t know how much longer he can keep it up, he needs to know when to say when.
Cena said that he needs to consider whether he can keep going at the pace he’s been going at, even though he’s not done. He said that he lives WWE and will become like a “weird Batman character” that comes running when they shine the light.
