John Gaburick Says Smackdown’s Move “Opened Up” Thursdays For Impact

– TNA EVP of Creative and Talent Relations John Gaburick appeared on the Taz Show and talked about Impact’s move to Thursdays starting next week. You can watch the discussion of the timeslot move below.

Gaburick pointed out that Impact began on Thursday nights and that TNA looked at it as an opportunity to “go home” to a night when TV viewershop is strongest. He said that there are “built-in television habits of people watching wrestling on Thursdays at eight o’ clock.”

When asked by Taz if the move was done because Smackdown was moving to Thursdays, Gaburick acknowledged that WWE’s move as “part of this decision” and that Smackdown’s move “opened up” Thursday for Impact. He said that the company is “super-excited” about the move and feels like it’s a logical step for them.
