Judge Rules Ryan Nemeth’s Contracts Can Be Partially Unsealed In AEW Arbitration

A judge has ruled that the three contracts of Ryan Nemeth cannot be fully sealed in his arbitration case against AEW. As you may recall, Nemeth and AEW have been engaged in a legal dispute since Nemeth sued AEW, Tony Khan, and CM Punk in February of 2025 alleging assault, breach of contract, breach of implied covenant of good faith and fair dealing and intentional interference with prospective advantage. AEW pushed to send the case into arbitration, which Nemeth agreed to in April of that year.
AEW had filed a motion to seal Nemeth’s three talent contracts with them, which Wrestlenomics’ Brandon Thurston had filed an opposition to. Thurston reports that the judge in the case has ruled that the contracts can be partially unsealed. AEW can file new redacted versions of the contracts with a new motion to seal, and Thurston can file another motion if he believes the new versions redact too much information.
The issue is relevant now because while arbitration has been agreed to, AEW wants the case arbitrated in Florida, and submitted the contracts as evidence of why that would be relevant. AEW can withdraw the contracts as exhibits instead of redact them, but then the judge cannot consider them when deciding on the motion to compel the arbitration to take place in Florida.
The company has 21 days from when Nemeth puts his first files on the docket, which hasn’t happened yet, to refile the contracts.
