KM Will Rise With or Without Fallah Bahh

Fallah Bahh

Last week, this columnist took a look at the recent troubles in the life of Eddie Edwards. As we know, things are not great in the world of Mr. Anything Is Possible. A swing of a baseball bat started his recent fall, and now he has found himself incapable of controlling his actions, searching for revenge – even though he’ll never let the issue truly die.

If I’m being honest – and I am – it was a bit of a depressing piece to write. Detailing the very personal failings of a man, seeing how it has consumed both his professional and personal lives… you have to hope that the man can find some peace.

I mean, he has so much to be happy about. Not teaming with Davey Richards, for one…

This week, I wanted to talk about someone who has earned my attention recently. He’s been around for a little while now, but appears to be ready to turn the corner and become much bigger than he’s been to this point.

Some could accuse this of being “fluff”, and I wouldn’t argue against it too much. After all, at the end of the day, we’re all fans of this sport, and it’s nice to remind ourselves of that. I tend to get a little too harsh on what I view to be a lax Impact Management staff, but I still know to let the wrestlers’ talents far outweigh the decisions of the impotent.

KM has a fan in me

I know, I know… KM is not the most popular wrestler in Impact. He’s always been a bit of a jerk, and an aggressive one at that. In a little over a year with the company, the biggest thing the man has gotten across is that he doesn’t appreciate being called a liar.

There’s nothing wrong with having a problem with people questioning your character, from where I sit. And, true, he’s gotten a bit physical with people when he probably shouldn’t, but that’s part of the perks of wrestling for Impact Wrestling – you can assault a fan, or attack someone in the hospital without fear of any type of punishment. KM knew that his low-level attacks weren’t going to get him into any trouble, so he played it pretty smart.

While he has yet to really have a pivotal moment, KM has done a good job of always maintaining a presence in the promotion. Whether it was to assist his cousin Sienna upon his debut, or being a thorn in Braxton Sutter’s side as we all cheered him on in his quest for love with Allie, or even finding a way to hang out with American Top Team during their beef with Moose… KM is always doing something to make sure that we know he’s there.

Recently, that’s manifested itself as first bullying the “fat guys” in Impact, and then turning it around by teaming with Fallah Bahh after realizing the error of his ways.

Avid readers of ZeeWI know that Fallah Bahh is a favorite of this columnist, so the two of them teaming up was cool with me. Of course I wonder why exactly Bahh is trusting KM, but at the same time, KM says he’s changed, and far be it from me to imply that he may not be 100% honest in that statement of character.

KM has the physical tools to be a force in Impact. He’s a great blend of size, power, and speed, and the right kind of attitude to stay focused on what matters most – himself. He’s also a bit of comedy, if you don’t take him too seriously.

That’s not to say that he’s not a threat – just that, from my vantage point, KM is more bully-that-goes-slightly-overboard than cruel and sadistic mastermind. He does what he does to entertain himself, and if that calls for punking out some random cameraman, then so be it. If that means picking a fight with Richard Justice and Tyrus, so be it. And if it means fighting against oVe, then he’ll do that, too.

Just because I’m a fan, doesn’t mean I’m a sucker, though. We all saw the laugh after he and Bahh fell short to oVe. KM seemed to be giving his all in the match, and even seemed sincere when he apologized for his part in the loss. But the second Bahh left the ring, KM stared directly into our souls with a smile and a laugh.

Did KM just hitch his ride to a wagon that’s quickly gained popularity amongst the fans? If this is about revenge for the loss to Tyrus, Bahh and Justice on April 12, why not target Tyrus, first? Tyrus was the one that put the team together. Sure, it was a Banzai Drop from Bahh to KM that ended the night, but… there’s no way KM is that petty, is he?

No, absolutely not.

There’s just no way that KM has launched a plan where he costs his nemesis match after match, all while pretending to be his teammate and friend, in a bid to crush the man’s psyche, in the same way that he was crushed by that man’s Banzai Drop, right?

You know what? Maybe I am a sucker. KM has always been a man of his word, and if he says he says that the one thing he regrets during his time in Impact is fat-shaming Fallah, then I’m going to give him the benefit of the doubt. Maybe his post-match laughter was just a reaction to Bahh’s anger over losing the match.

I think that KM sees something special in Bahh, but he is going to bring it out of him in a manner to which we’re not accustomed. Bahh may need to be broken down a bit in order to see the areas he could use improvement. That’s where KM will come in handy – using tools he’s acquired along the way.

Hopefully it all works out. The two of them could form a dominant tag team, once they’re on the same page completely. If that means Fallah needs to get over some of the things that KM said, then that’s the way it is. KM has attempted to make amends. At some point, Bahh is going to have to either trust the man, or he’ll have to stop showing up for tag team matches alongside him.

Whatever happens, I like the moxie of KM. I like that he’s unafraid to do whatever it takes to keep any hint of momentum and that he’ll fight anyone on the roster, from Sugar Dunkerton to Brian Cage. If he can continue to show up every week, and continue to chip away at the mountain, he could very well find himself the Global Champion of Impact Wrestling.

What? He could! Are you calling me a liar?

Before all that, though, he’s going to have to either prove to Fallah that his path is the right one, or force Fallah into following it anyways.
