Kris Statlander and Hikaru Shida are officially headed for a Philly Street Fight on the May 27 special edition of AEW Dynamite and Collision from Philadelphia’s Liacouras Center.
AEW confirmed the match following the fallout from Double or Nothing, where both Kris Statlander and Shida competed in the AEW Women’s World Championship four-way match.
Tension between the two stars had already started surfacing before Double or Nothing, with their alliance showing more cracks each week. That friction appeared to fully boil over during the pay-per-view event, leading directly into the newly announced Street Fight.
Now, AEW is giving both wrestlers a no-rules environment to settle things in singles competition. The Philly Street Fight adds another major match to AEW’s upcoming three-hour Dynamite and Collision broadcast from Philadelphia.
AEW has not announced additional rules or details for the contest beyond confirming the Street Fight format.
The May 27 special is expected to continue fallout from Double or Nothing while pushing several major storylines forward heading into AEW’s next stretch of summer events.
