Kyle Fletcher is riding high and is now the top seed of the Gold League in the 2025 AEW Continental Classic Tournament. Following his win over Jack Perry on this week’s Christmas Collision, Fletcher commented on facing Moxley in the semifinals, which takes place later today at AEW Worlds End. Below are some highlights:
On Taking the Top Seed in the Gold League
“It’s been a long night, a very, very anxious night waiting by the monitor. Even though I won my match against Jack Perry, I ended up on nine points; it really came down to what happened in the other two matches, the other two gold matches, to find out if I even made it to the semis. But we stand here at the end of the night, and I won the freaking gold league. I am the number one seed of the gold league 2025. Last year, I won the blue league. This year, I won the gold league just like I said I was going to. But the fun thing about the Continental Classic, there is no time for celebration because it is Christmas Day. Merry Christmas to me because in two days’ time it’s finals time, baby. Leagues are done and dusted.”
Kyle Fletcher on Facing Jon Moxley
“It is finals time. Two days until I step into the ring with John Moxley for the first time ever. One on one. See the Death Riders. We haven’t had too much interaction up until now. So, it is very, very interesting to me to see how I fare against a former four-time AEW world champion and the other semifinalists. [Kazuchika] Okada. [Konosuke] Takeshita. I don’t know where my head’s at with that. I don’t know who I want to face in the finals, but all I know is that I cannot look past an animal like John Moxley. So that is what I am doing. Full focus on John Moxley and Mox. I want you to bring everything you have because this is everything to me. Professional wrestling is everything to me, and I know it’s everything to you, which is why I am so very excited. Two days’ time, two days’ time, I am going to bring everything I can. And I am going to be more locked in than I ever have in my life because I want to walk into 2026 as the continental champion. And Mox, I have to walk through you to do so. So I will see you then.”
Kyle Fletcher faces Jon Moxley at AEW Worlds End 2025 later today at the Now Arena in Hoffman Estates, Illinois. The winner will face the winner of Takeshita vs. Okada in their own respective semifinal bout. The final winner wins the entire Continental Classic for this year.
