Austin Creed Jokes With Kenny Omega About WWE Exit: ‘It’s Been Great Getting To Relax’

Austin Creed has enjoyed having the opportunity to recharge his batteries during his time off since exiting WWE. The former Xavier Woods exited the company along with Kofi Kingston at the start of May. The two, who reportedly chose to leave after being asked to restructure their contracts, are awaiting the moment when they become free agents.
In the meantime, Creed spoke with Giant Bomb alongside AEW’s Kenny Omega, who Creed has long been friends with over their love of gaming. The two had some fun talking around Creed’s time off, which Creed pointed out was his first non-injury related break in 22 years.
Creed told Omega, who joked that nothing interesting has happened since they last hung out, “Yeah, about that… you could say I pushed for a pretty permanent vacation…”
Omega then played like it was a shock, saying, “WAIT! Permanently?! YOU MEAN YOU–” to which Creed said, “Yup!”
Omega asked how his Street Fighter rival has been, to which Creed said:
“Taking a full ass break for the first time in 22 years. It’s been great getting to relax. It’s summer, kids are out of school, have been going on hella vacations, and are enjoying just existing and sleeping well.”
Creed and Kofi are widely expected to arrive in AEW after they become free agents in the next couple of weeks, though that has not been confirmed.
