Lexis King Claims He Suggested The John Cena Classic To Cena

Lexis King is taking credit for the John Cena Classic, claiming that he gave Cena the idea for the tournament. Cena announced, the new tournament at WWE Backlash. While details are still not entirely clear, we know that the tournament will feature NXT talent against main roster stars, with a fan vote determining the winner of the John Cena Classic Championship. It was implied that even a wrestler who loses matches could win the title by fan vote.

King posted to Twitter on Sunday and shared a modified Rock meme, writing:

“I’ve had some great talks with John Cena at the PC over the past couple of years, he has given me some life-changing advice on several occasions and then I said, ‘You should host a tournament, call it the John Cena Classic.’”

Cena has not responded to King’s statement at this time. No word on when the John Cena Classic will kick off.
