WWE Hall of Famer Mick Foley officially signed with AEW last month, with the former WWE Champion reportedly set to appear at “all the AEW PPV shows and some television shows for the foreseeable future.” However, as reported by Dave Meltzer in a recent F4WOnline.com Daily Update, Foley won’t be appearing at this weekend’s AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door 2026 pay-per-view event.

According to Meltzer’s Daily Update report, Foley had a contractual date for a comedy show in Seabrook, New Hampshire this weekend that he tried to change, but he was unable to do it. As a result, he won’t be appearing at Sunday’s event in San Jose, California. However, Foley reportedly cleared up his schedule following Forbidden Door, so he’ll be available for Dynamite and pay-per-view events when needed in September, November, and December.

During yesterday’s edition of Wrestling Observer Radio, Meltzer shared further insight regarding his report and Foley’s absence at Forbidden Door. Meltzer noted that Foley had already committed to multiple bookings before signing with AAEW.

Meltzer explained about Foley, “He had a booking. He booked himself like crazy, you know, before he got the AEW gig, and this date, unfortunately, he had a booking in Seabrook, New Hampshire. And he did try and get out of it, but he wasn’t able to do it.” He continued, “So he won’t be in San Jose, but he’ll probably be at — I think he’s going to be — he may not be, if there’s an October pay-per-view, he may not be there because he’s got some overseas trips in October, but the plan is for him to be in Montreal. Although he has a date listed in Raleigh that night, so I don’t know.”

Meltzer added, “But I got the impression he’d be in Montreal, definitely London, and pretty much, he’s trying to book himself to keep Wednesdays free going forward, and all the pay-per-views.” The Montreal show is referring to AEW Redemption, the new inaugural July AEW pay-per-view event, which is scheduled for July 26 at the Bell Centre in Montreal, Quebec.

Notes on Upcoming Dates for Mick Foley

It should be noted that Foley’s official website does not list him for an event the same night as Redemption on July 26. Foley’s website currently lists him for the GalaxyCon in Raleigh, North Carolina on Saturday, July 25. That would technically allow Foley to be free up to appear at Redemption, provided he can get travel arrangements from Raleigh to North Carolina in that time frame.

Additionally, Meltzer stated that Foley would be available to AEW for Dynamite shows “when they need him,” and he will also be appearing at all or most of the pay-per-views, including Redemption and All In London in late August.
