AEW World Champion Maxwell Jacob Friedman (MJF) recently commented on his previous in-ring encounters with Kenny Omega.

MJF is set to defend the Triple B against The Best Bout Machine on tonight’s Dynamite: Beach Break. The bout has major implications for Omega, as he will never be able to challenge for the AEW World Championship if he fails to dethrone MJF tonight.

This will be the first one-on-one match between MJF and Omega, and history isn’t in The Cleaner’s favor, as he is 0-2 against Friedman. Their first match took place during the October 28, 2023, episode of AEW Collision, which MJF won by pinfall. Friedman did an encore earlier this year when he pinned Kenny Omega and retained the world title at Dynasty.

Ahead of the high-stakes bout, the three-time AEW World Champion spoke to Undisputed and reflected on his previous two matches with Kenny Omega. In typical Friedman style, the Long Island native said that he loves both those matches purely because he won both of them.

Here’s what he said [via Fightful]:

“I loved both matches against Kenny; I loved both of those matches so much. You know why? I won. I’ve been saying it for years: I’m the salt of the earth. I’m the best professional wrestler in the world. I’m the most complete professional wrestler this sport has ever seen, and a huge part of that is proving it.”

Only time will tell if Friedman pulls off a hat trick of wins over Omega tonight. You can check out the lineup for Dynamite: Beach Break RIGHT HERE.
