New Tag Team Champions Crowned On WWE Smackdown

We have new WWE Tag Team Champions, with Damian Priest and R-Truth winning the titles on this week’s episode of WWE Smackdown. Friday night’s show saw Priest and Truth challenge The MFTs’ Tama Tonga and JC Mateo for the titles. In a match that went a little under nine minutes, Priest and Truth defeated the champions to capture the titles.

Toward the end of the match, the Wyatt Sicks came down to the ring to brawl with Tonga Loa and Talla Tonga when the MFTs got involved. Uncle Howdy locked in a Mandible Claw on Solo Sikoa and Mateo came to make the save. That allowed Truth to recover from a nearfall and hit a side kick. Priest then clothesline Tama Tonga to lay him out and Truth hit the Attitude Adjustment for the win and titles. You can see a clip from the match below.

The win marks Priest’s third run with the WWE Tag Team Championships and Truth’s first reign. Priest previously held the titles with Finn Balor twice during his time in the Judgment Day. The MFT’s title reign ends at 56 days, having won the titles from the Wyatt Sicks on the January 23rd episode of WWE Smackdown.
