– During a recent edition of The Wrestling Observer Radio, the Observer’s Dave Meltzer discussed the recent WWE Chronicle special on Roman Reigns, who made his recent return to WWE after going on hiatus due to a leukemia diagnosis last October. At one point, Meltzer commented on Reigns’ diagnosis and illness, along with the medication Reigns said he was taking. Now, WWE Superstar Nia Jax, who also happens to be the cousin of Roman Reigns, has chimed in, and she’s not happy with Meltzer’s comments.

Meltzer was not specifically saying Reigns was faking his illness or diagnosis, but he did at one point say on Reigns: “He actually did say the pill was oral chemotherapy. It really — I don’t think it was because the pill that I was talking about, which is a new pill, and that’s what he said — he didn’t give the name of it, like I said, but…the treatment of this is usually not chemotherapy or radiation.” Pro Wrestling Sheet’s Ryan Satin was not happy with the comments Meltzer made on his show, and took him to task on Twitter.

Satin wrote on Meltzer: “Speculating about storylines, upcoming matches and locker room “heat” is one thing … but Meltzer saying Roman isn’t telling the truth about his cancer treatment is not ok. Many take his word as gospel and to speculate on such a matter is irresponsible.”

Nia Jax was later not quite as diplomatic, and slammed Meltzer for his comments. She wrote: “@davemeltzerWON is a piece of s***. The fact that u make statements about people’s health, when u have zero knowledge about it is ridiculous. If u do have access 2 superstars PERSONAL medical info, that is a HUGE violation of HIPAA & I’m sure that’s not the case. So shut ur mouth.”

While Meltzer did not apologize for his earlier comments, he did say that he stands “corrected” on them. It appears shortly before Jax posted that tweet, Meltzer wrote the following on his own Twitter account: “On the Reigns treatment, there are different options that include a pill that is oral chemo and that is what he said he was taking and there’s no reason not to believe that, so I stand corrected on that.”
