SmackDown General Manager Nick Aldis dropped a bombshell on the WWE Elimination Chamber Post Show, as he announced that Drew McIntyre will defend the Undisputed WWE Title against Cody Rhodes this coming Friday.
Tonight’s Elimination Chamber Premium Live Event was headlined by the six-man elimination match. The closing stages of the bout saw Drew McIntyre make his presence felt, as the champion tried to take out Cody with the belt.
Cody eventually fought off Drew with the help of Randy Orton. However, in doing so, he took his eyes off The Viper and paid the price for it. Randy took down his former Legacy stablemate with an RKO to secure the decisive pinfall and a shot at the Undisputed WWE Title in Las Vegas this April. Following this, Nick Aldis got into a heated confrontation with Drew backstage.
Moments later, at the post-show, an enraged Nick Aldis vented his frustrations on Drew before announcing that the Scottish Warrior will have to put his gold on the line against The American Nightmare on the coming episode of SmackDown. Following this, Drew emerged on the scene and nearly came to blows with Aldis before the two were separated by security officials.
