Nick Aldis vs. Doug Williams Winner Will Face Cody Rhodes for NWA Championship at 70th Anniversary Show

– During the 10 Pounds of Gold Panel at Wrestling MediaCon (via Sportskeeda), Nick Aldis voiced his desire to invoke his contractual rematch clause for a title shot against current reigning NWA world champion Cody Rhodes. However, Doug Williams then interrupted the panel and said he was promised a shot at the world title.

Williams challenged Aldis to face him with the title match contendership on the line. Aldis agreed to Williams challenge. The two will now face each other in a No. 1 contender’s match tomorrow at Wrestling MediaCon. The winner will face Cody Rhodes for the NWA world title at the NWA 70th Anniversary Show.

Cody Rhodes defeated Aldis to capture the NWA World Heavyweight Championship last weekend at Bullet Club’s All In event.
