This week’s edition of The Wrestling Observer Newsletter has some more details on the viewership numbers for AEW Full Gear 2025, which took place on November 22. During the post-show media scrum, Tony Khan said that Full Gear did AEW’s best PPV numbers ever on HBO Max.
Not as much detail is available for the pay-per-view viewership numbers yet, since the Thanksgiving holiday took place the following week after the event. AEW pay-per-view numbers debuted earlier on HBO Max with All Out Toronto earlier in September. It was later rumored that the pay-per-view buys for the show were in the range of 135,000 to 140,000 buys.
The Observer Newsletter reports that, per later information, Full Gear was the most-viewed AEW pay-per-view to date on HBO Max and the most-viewed AEW pay-per-view overall since All In Texas, which took place in July, before the events became available on HBO Max. Additionally, early indications suggest that Full Gear will finish up with viewership slightly increased from All Out, which will surpass most predictions for the event.
Also, The Observer reports that Google searches for AEW Full Gear 2025 were up 35.1% from WrestleDream 2025 and 33.3% increased from All Out. Google searches for Full Gear were reportedly down 22% from All In Texas, which is likely to be expected, since All In was AEW’s biggest show of the year.
