– As noted by Fightful Select, today marks the day Ronda Rousey’s original WWE contract was slated to expire, according to a statement from WWE given to TMZ in January 2019 following rumors that Rousey would be leaving the company soon. A WWE spokesperson released a statement at the time, saying, “Ronda Rousey is under contract with WWE until April 10, 2021. Whether she wants to start a family is a private matter.”

Rousey would end up taking a hiatus from WWE programming following the WrestleMania 35 main event, when she lost the Raw women’s title to Becky Lynch in a Winner Takes All Triple Threat Match against Lynch and Charlotte Flair. She has not appeared on WWE TV since that time.

In October of last year, Paul Heyman made comments in an interview with The New York Post, where he stated: “Just perhaps, Ronda Rousey’s contract has been extended or she has worked out a new deal and it would not benefit either WWE or Ronda Rousey to go public with that information. But why wouldn’t people understand that it would be kept secret?”

Additionally, while Rousey has been off WWE TV, WWE has continued selling WWE-branded Ronda Rousey merchandise. However, it’s unknown if she signed a new contract or agreement with WWE.
