Paul Wight Says John Cena Is the Toughest Man in Wrestling, Thinks Kane Is One of the Most Brilliant People He’s Ever Met

AEW’s Paul Wight recently joined Sky Sports’ Ringmates, Paul Wight answered some quickfire questions on who is the toughest man in wrestling, the funniest, the smartest, and more. For the toughest, Paul Wight answered John Cena. Wight thinks WWE Hall of Famer Kane, aka Mayor Glenn Jacobs, is the smartest. Below are some highlights:

Paul Wight on Why John Cena I the Toughest Man in Wrestling

“Believe it or not, John Cena, you know, John Cena had neck surgery at 7 a.m. and at 3:00 in the afternoon, he came by the building to say hello to everybody. This is a guy that had his neck fused and within less than 7 hours, he came by to say hello to everybody. So, that’s pretty tough. I’ve seen him get stabbed in the eye and have his cornea scratched and he’s still at work the next day. That’s pretty tough.”

On the Funniest Wrestler

“Funniest wrestler, Santino Marella, 100%. I have never laughed so hard. Been around somebody that constantly makes everybody laugh is Santino. He’s funniest guy. And it’s funny is he’s also like a legit black belt jiu-jitsu champion. Can like kill all of us, but he’s the funniest guy around.”

The Best All-Rounder

“Greatest allrounder in the ring. Probably a guy that has everything. Athletic ability, wrestling skill, performing skill, microphone skill. Kurt Angle.”

On Who Is the Most Intelligent

“Toss up. Um, we’ve got some pretty smart guys, I would say. Uh, Adam Copeland is really smart. Incredible memory. Adam doesn’t forget anything. He’s got a memory like a steel trap. Billy Gun, too. Billy Gunn is [snorts] he’ll play like a big country rodeo cowboy, but believe me, he is very intelligent and very smart. And uh, of course, my all-time favorite is probably Glenn Jacobs, Kane. He’s he’s one of the most brilliant people I’ve ever met. So, yeah.”

Kane was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame as part of the Class of 2021.
