Raja Jackson Files Not Guilty Plea Over Incident With Stuart Smith

As previously noted, MMA fighter Raja Jackson, the son of former UFC light heavyweight champion Quinton “Rampage” Jackson, had a criminal complain formally filed against him by the Los Angeles Country District Attorney’s Office, facing one count of felony battery that caused serious bodily injury and one count of misdemeanor battery, stemming from the incident that took place at KnokX Pro Wrestling Academy in Sun Valley, California on August 23, where Jackson attacked the wrestler Syko Stu (aka Stuart Smith) and repeatedly hit him in the face. Raja Jackson was set for his arraignment in court earlier today, with new details from TMZ, and Jackson filing a “not guilty” plea.

Jackson appeared in court in Los Angeles earlier today (Oct. 9) to face his charges, and he reportedly pled not guilty during his hearing. He’s said to be due back in court in November. TMZ notes that Jackson was not commenting on the matter publicly. While being asked questions by reports at the San Fernando Courthouse, Raja Jackson remained quiet on the matter.

Jackson was also reportedly flanked by men who looked to be his attorneys. Prosecutors reportedly say Jackson faces up to seven years in prison if convicted on the felony count, and he could face up to six more months if convicted on his misdemeanor charge.

Ahead of his court appearance and not guilty plea, Raja Jackson was arrested on suspicion of felony assault, but later released on $50,000 bail. Additionally, law enforcement authorities reportedly did not present a case to prosecutors for charging until earlier this month.
