Randy Orton is set to battle Cody Rhodes for the Undisputed WWE Championship at WrestleMania 42, with a new report notes the challenger his “hurting” going into the bout. The Wrestling Observer Newsletter touched on Orton’s match with Rhodes, which is set for night one of the two-night event. Dave Meltzer discussed the apparently likelihood of Orton winning the match since Pat McAfee had said that he wouldn’t appear on wrestling TV again if Orton loses.

Meltzer did not indicate specifically how Orton is hurting, only that sources have said that he is. He also noted that as of now, Jelly Roll and Cody Rhodes vs. Pat McAfee and Randy Orton is currently slated to headline WWE Backlash which takes place on May 9th, which would obviously indicate that McAfee is not leaving wrestling TV any time soon. So as of now, there are no plans to take McAfee off TV or for Orton to take time off following WrestleMania.

WrestleMania 42 is set to take place on April 18th and 19th at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas, Nevada. The show will air live on ESPN Unlimited in the US and Netflix internationally. 411 will have live coverage of both nights as well as the WWE Hall of Fame ceremony in Friday.
