Teddy Long Reveals Vince McMahon Gifted Him a Bust of His Head at His Birthday Party

During a recent interview with TMZ’s Inside the Ring, WWE Hall of Famer Teddy Long spoke about the origin of his nice suits and wardrobe he always brought to WWE TV. Teddy Long also revealed one of his treasured possessions, gifted to him by former WWE Chairman Vince McMahon

Long attended Vince McMahon’s 80th birthday party last year. You might recall that McMahon gifted select attendees with a bust of his head as a gift at the event. Only 100 were made. Below are some highlights:

On Where the Idea for His Nice Suits Came From

“This is a true story, and I’ll tell you where it come from. When I was growing up as a kid, uh, I came up in a family where there were pimps and hustlers. And so, that’s all I knew growing up as a kid, you know, guys that were pimping and being hustlers. And so, they always had on suits and stuff, you know, and then I became a part of that uh, scenario. I started hanging with these guys and started breaking the laws. I was on drugs, doing everything A to Z. So that’s where the suits came from. I learned about it when I was with the guys that were pimping and hustling. I just took it to TV.”

Teddy Long on His Favorite Piece of Memorabilia Being the Bust Vince McMahon Gave Him

“I don’t have a lot of it sitting around now, but golly, I got some here I could probably show you now. But the piece that I would really see is Vince. I went to Vince’s birthday and after the birthday party, Vince gave me this bust of his head, and I have that. And like I said, I could walk. We could go see it right now cuz I have it in the room there. … No, he didn’t give them out to everyone, but I’m not the only one that got one. … I would consider that my prized possession.”

On Attending McMahon’s Birthday

“The birthday was good. I hadn’t seen him in a while, and so he made me feel real good. He walked up to me, and he said, ‘Teddy Long, it is so good to see you.’ So, uh, that was what made me feel real good.”

You can see Long show the hosts the bust at about 14 minutes into the video (see below).
