Ratings Breakdown For This Week’s Episode of AEW Dynamite
As previously reported, AEW Dynamite was down in both ratings and viewership following their Dynasty PPV, with the latter being its worst in some time. The show had 683,000 viewers with an 0.23 (309,000 viewers) in the key 18-49 demographic. It also had an 0.15 in 18-34. The show aired live Coast to Coast, which according to the WON, typically leads to an 8% drop. It normally airs later in the West Coast but instead aired at 5 PM PT. Dave Meltzer speculated that if it aired in its normal time, it would still have been slightly lower than last week.
The show peaked in both 18-49 and 18-34 with the final quarter.
Dynamite was #6 for the night, behind two NBA games on TNT, two NHL games on ESPN and Inside the NBA after the second game. It was #3 in its time slot behind TNT and ESPN. It’s main competition was the Boston vs. Miami NBA game, which had 2,856,000 viewers and an 0.95 on TNT (as well as 269,000 and 0.10 on TruTV). The NHL game between Boston and Toronto had 1,238,000/0.38. The Big Bang Theory lead-in was also down, getting only 856,000 viewers and an 0.14.
Compared to last week, Dynamite was down 10.4% in viewers, down 10.1% in 18-49 and down 4.4% in 18-34. Compared to last year, it was down 20.9% in viewers, down 17.9% in 18-49 and down 22.9% in 18-34. The audience was 62.1% male in 18-49, down significantly from usual.
