After several months away from competition, Red Velvet has officially been cleared to return to the ring, and she’s wasting no time making a bold statement. The AEW and ROH star publicly called out Mercedes Moné for a Ring of Honor Women’s Television Championship unification match after the latter won the interim title at AEW WrestleDream this past weekend.

Wrestling Observer Newsletter initially broke the news that Velvet had been medically cleared, so she will soon be challenging Mone to unify the regular and interim ROH Women’s TV Title. On this week’s episode of ROH on HonorClub, she made her first televised appearance since suffering a neck injury in June this year.

Speaking backstage, Red Velvet told fans she was “medically cleared” and ready to compete again while warning Mone that her empire is about to crumble. Her words strongly hinted that a title unification bout between the current Women’s TV Champion and the interim titleholder is on the horizon.

Red Velvet’s injury occurred on June 20 during CMLL Presenta NJPW Fantastica Mania México 2025. AEW and ROH President Tony Khan confirmed in July that Velvet would be out indefinitely, and an interim champion would be crowned to keep the title active. Since then, the championship has seen multiple changes, with Mina Shirakawa briefly holding the interim belt before Mercedes Moné captured it at AEW WrestleDream 2025.

Currently, Moné is balancing multiple storylines across AEW and ROH, including teaming with Athena in the AEW Women’s World Tag Team Title Tournament and challenging Kris Statlander at Full Gear 2025.
