Rey Fenix has publicly urged WWE to offer him more opportunities, including against current Intercontinental Champion Penta, as he aims to thrive amid an ongoing lackluster run on Friday Night SmackDown.

Fenix made his WWE debut in April 2025, just three months after his brother, Penta, made a blockbuster arrival on Monday Night RAW. However, unlike Cero Miedo, Fenix has failed to build any momentum, largely due to his lackluster booking.

While Penta has been presented as a major singles player, the same can’t be said about Fenix. Though he has been wrestling in AAA in recent times, the luchador is barely factored into SmackDown these days. His last singles match on the blue brand’s show, against Trick Williams (which he predictably lost), took place three months ago.

Meanwhile, Penta is the reigning WWE Intercontinental Champion. He captured the title from Dominik Mysterio on the Road to WrestleMania 42 and has since notched up several successful defenses, including at The Show of Shows in Las Vegas in a chaotic Ladder Match.

Penta is set for yet another title defense later this month. He will defend his gold against Ethan Page at Saturday Night’s Main Event on May 23. Earlier today, WWE promoted the upcoming match on X. This prompted a response from Rey Fenix, who called for the company to present him with more opportunities, including against his brother for the IC Title.

“I love my brother, but i will like to have my chance,” he wrote. Check out his comment below:
