Rhea Ripley Reflects On Tag Team With IYO SKY, Says SKY Has Helped Her Grow
Rhea Ripley has loved tagging with IYO SKY, noting that their run as RHIYO helped her grow as a person and that they’ll always come out on top. Ripley and SKY became a dominant force when they teamed up and had a two-month run as WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions to start the year. The team is on hold for now as Ripley challenges Jade Cargill at WrestleMania 42, but Ripley told ESPN SportsCenter that they will continue to have each other’s back as SKY deals with Kairi Sane and Asuka. You can see highlights below:
On RHIYO:
“I love IYO SKY. I absolutely love her. We had an awesome run as RHIYO, as a tag team and she helped me through a very dark place in the beginning. She helped me grow as an individual and I was trying to do the same. But unfortunately, our past is like catching up to us, and that’s where Asuka and Kairi come into it. They just won’t leave her alone.”
On Continuing to Help Each Other:
“Now she has been trying to help me with my Jade Cargill problem and I’ve been trying to help her with her Asuka and Kairi problem, so we are just going to have to try and figure it all out. We’ve always been targeted because we’ve been the top girls for so long, so we’re used to having that target on our back. We’re just going to have to keep fighting through it all. And that’s why I say, keep fighting, because that’s what I am, and so is IYO SKY, the same as me. At the end of the day, we’re going to come out on top, because that’s what we always do.”
