Rhea Ripley Recalls Period in Her Career Where She Felt Lost and Was Struggling, Betting on Her True Self

During a recent chat with the Topps YouTube channel, WWE Women’s Champion Rhea Ripley recalled a period earlier in her WWE career where she felt like she was lost and struggling. Ripley said it was between the first Mae Young Classic tournament and the second one.

Rhea Ripley was asked what advice she would offer to her younger self. Ripley explained, “When it was in between the first Mae Young and the second Mae Young, I really went through this real tough period where I lost myself, and I was really struggling, and I didn’t think that I would make it here in the WWE.”

She continued, “I got pretty much put on the chopping block a couple times and it’s like I kind of just had a talk to myself and I was like stop trying to please everyone, like just do what you think is right and be yourself and at least if you don’t make it, you bet on yourself and you bet on the true self that you are. And that’s exactly what I did.”

Rhea Ripley will be in action later this weekend at WWE Clash in Italy, where she defends her title against former champion Jade Cargill in a WrestleMania rematch. The premium live event is scheduled for Sunday, May 31.
