Steve Maclin’s time in TNA is at an apparent end, with the former Impact World Champion fired as a result of the Feast Or Fired briefcase reveals on TNA Impact. Thursday night’s show saw the reveals of the briefcases after the match took place on last week’s show.
Maclin, Eric Young, Trey Miguel, and Eddie Edwards all won briefcases in last week’s match. Edwards’ briefcase was revealed to be for a World Championship match, while Miguel received a shot at the TNA International Championship. Young got a shot at the TNA X-Division Championship and Maclin ended up with the pink slip.
Young told Maclin that his choices were haunting him. Gia Miller asks if Maclin has any final words and he said nothing, instead just walking away.
Maclin has been with TNA since 2021 and is a former World Champion as well as a two-time TNA International Champion. Maclin’s contract was up at the end of the year and he was reported as having signed an extension earlier this month. The length of his extension was not confirmed and he has been taking indie bookings through the month of April.
While most Feast or Fired matches have resulted in the pink slip person being legitimately released, but not in every situation. Grado’s firing in 2016 was a kayfabe release and he eventually returned, Velvet Sky’s firing in 2015 was also in kayfabe only, as was Curry Man’s in 2008.
