Tavion Heights is the new #1 contender for the WWE NXT North American Championship, earning a title shot on this week’s WWE NXT. Tuesday night’s show featured Heights taking on Jackson Drake of The Vanity Project in a match to determine the next challenger for the title.
Heights had to contend with the rest of Vanity Project at ringside in addition to Drake, who hit a cutter and a standing shooting star press midway through the match for a two count. The action went outside for a bit and toward the end of the match, Myles Borne came down to ringside to stop the Vanity Project from getting involved. Heights hit a belly to belly suplex on Jackson to get the three-count and the win.
You can see clips from the match below. Heights will now go onto NXT Great American Bash, where he will challenge Hights for the North American Championship. The Great American Bash takes place on June 28th and airs on The CW.
