Sorry for getting this in so late everyone. I was out of town all weekend, didn’t have any time on Monday, and I couldn’t log in yesterday. Anyways, on with the show…

– Steve Romero, alongside Josh Matthews, welcomes us to Velocity.

Opening Match: Simon Dean vs. Paul Burchill
Dean slaps Burchill in the face to start. He then pokes Burchill in the chest, but Paul grabs his hand, twists it, and then flips him over. The two get to their feet and make their way to the ropes, and are broken up. Dean hits a cheap shot and then sends Burchill into the corner. Paul gets whipped into the opposite corner and sent on the apron. Burchill elbows Dean and sends him face first into the top turnbuckle. Birchill flies over the ropes and hits a leg drop, and then unsuccessfully goes for the C-4. Dean reverses him, sends him into the corner, and hits a diving shoulder thrusts. Dean delivers a few blows to the ribs of Burchill, and then kicks him around the ring. Simon locks on a bearhug, but Burchill, but Paul fights out. He then goes for a sunset flip, but Dean fights out and stomps on Burchill’s hands for a two count. Dean picks Burchill up and applies an abdominal stretch. Burchill climbs to the top rope and misses a moonsault (Romero calls it a 180 backflip). Dean picks up his bag in the corner, but the referee gets rid of it. Meanwhile, Burchill goes into his bag, takes a few sips of some drink, and spits it into Dean’s face. Burchill hits an ugly C-4 for the victory at 5:28.

Winner: Paul Burchill
Rating: *3/4 – Pretty good stuff, but it’s just you’re typical Velocity match. Burchill was extremely over and worked the crowd great. Hopefully he gets pushed to the moon when he overcomes his injury.

Kid Kash & Jamie Noble vs. Chris Roman and Russell Simpson
Kash and Noble come out with dog collars around their neck. Kash and Noble attack Roman and Simpson to start. They send Simpson into the ropes and both hit an elbow as he comes off of them. While Roman and Simpson are outside the ring, Noble and Kash start taunting like dogs. With all four men back in, Noble and Roman start off. Noble takes down Roman, who kicks Noble away and makes a quick tag to Simpson. Noble hits a drop toe hold and then an elbow to the back. Noble leads Simpson towards Kash’s corner and makes the tag, but Simpson elbows both men out of the way. Kash then sprints into the ring and beats down on Roman. As Noble comes off the ropes Kash enters the ring, and Jamie hits a spear as Kash hits a clothesline. Kash tags back in and gets onto the top rope. Noble sets Roman upon his own shoulders and Kash hits a clothesline off the top rope for the pin at 5:39.

Winners: Kid Kash & Jamie Noble
Rating: *1/2 – Kash and Noble just got way too much offense in to call it a good match. Look for the two to become a major tag team on Smackdown with MNM no longer. They have great chemistry in the ring, are creative, and the dog gimmick is even working. They were extremely over as faces in this match.

Funaki & Scotty Too Hotty vs. Nunzio & Vito
Scotty still comes out too a pretty big pop these days. Funaki and Nunzio lockup to start. Nunzio applies in a headlock, Funaki sends him into the ropes, and Nunzio hits a shoulder block. Nunzio misses and elbow, and Funaki locks in an arm wrench and sends Nunzio to the ground. Scotty tags in, and Nunzio applies a wristlock. Scotty rolls out of it, sends Nunzio into the ropes, and hits three hip tosses for a two count. Nunzio leads Scotty to the corner nails a few kicks and punches. Scotty fights back with a couple of blows, and then flies off the ropes with a bulldog. Scotty connects with the work, but Vito breaks it up. Nunzio goes to the outside, and Vito hits a cheap shot to the head off of Scotty. Vito rolls Nunzio towards his corner, tags into, and gets a two count. Vito whips Scotty into the ropes and hits a clothesline for two. Vito gets a scoop slam, but misses a leg drop off the second rope. Funaki tags in, but Vito takes down Funaki and punches away at him. Vito then hits the Forget About It for the win at 4:27.

Winners: Vito & Nunzio
Rating: DUD – It was a complete squash.

Main Event: Gregory Helms vs. Psicosis
They lockup to start, and Helms goes behind Psicosis. Helms leads Psicosis to the corner and they are broken up. They lockup again, Helms gets in a hammer lock, but Psicosis hits a couple of arm drags. Helms hits a boot to the midsection, a firemen carry, and misses an elbow. Psicosis gains control, and locks the arm. Helms kicks up, but Psicosis is able to nail a dropkick. Psicosis goes for another, but Helms moves out of the way, and Psicosis flies through the ropes and to the outside. Helms goes to the outside and pounds away, and sends Psicosis back into the ring. Helms hits an inverted DDT for a two count, and then applies a headlock. Psicosis fights out of it and hits a suplex. He then goes onto the second rope and hits a diving spinning heel kick on Helms. Psicosis nails a few punches, ducks a clothesline, and delivers another spinning heel kick, which sends Helms to the outside. Psicosis then jumps over the ropes and onto Helms on the outside. Helms gets rolled back into the ring, and Psicosis climbs upon the top rope and hits a diving cross body for a two count. Helms fights back and attempts to climb onto the turnbuckle, but Psicosis knocks him onto the apron. Helms counters with a hangman’s neckbraker, and hits the Eye of the Hurricane for the victory at 4:17.

Winner: Gregory Helms
Rating: *3/4 – This was good stuff, just way too short.

Overall: Pretty bad Velocity, though the crowd was hot. The only segment worth watching is the tag match with Noble and Kash. The crowd really seemed to love their new gimmick, and the two are really fun to watch together.
