Tony Khan has offered an encouraging update on Will Ospreay as he continues his recovery from neck surgery. Speaking with 107.7 The Bone, Khan said Ospreay is doing “very, very well” and remains an important figure whenever he appears in AEW programming.
Ospreay has been out of in-ring action since undergoing surgery last summer to address a lingering neck issue. His absence has been closely followed, given his role as one of AEW’s most recognizable performers. A recent video package on All Elite Wrestling TV highlighted his surgery, rehabilitation, and medical scans, which quickly renewed discussion of a possible return timeline.
Tony Khan noted that he remains in regular contact with Ospreay and continues to view him as a key draw for the company. Even while sidelined, Ospreay has stayed involved in wrestling. He has made limited appearances outside AEW and has contributed behind the scenes to UK-based promotions, maintaining a connection to the industry during his recovery (via Wrestling Observer).
“I talk to Will Ospreay a lot, and he’s doing very, very well and on the road to recovery, which is incredible news for AEW,” Khan said. “Because Will Ospreay’s one of our greatest stars we’ve ever had. And AEW’s a better place anytime Will Ospreay is involved in any aspect of All Elite Wrestling.”
According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, AEW is targeting a long-term goal rather than an immediate comeback. Dave Meltzer noted that the current expectation centers on AEW All In 2026, scheduled for August at Wembley Stadium. No official return date has been announced.
