As previously reported, WWE: Unreal Season 2, Episode 4, “Performance Art,” documents the worked injury for Seth Rollins at Saturday Night’s Main Event in July, which was presented as a legitimate injury at first, with not even referee Jessika Carr knowing the injury was part of an elaborate angle.

During the episode, WWE Chief Creative Officer Paul “Triple H” Levesque reveals how he had to convince Seth Rollins that LA Knight needed to be clued into the angle, despite Rollins’ protests at first. Triple H explained (via Fightful), “One of the few people that I couldn’t in good conscience let think that this was real, was LA Knight. But Seth came to me, and he said, ‘Why does LA Knight need to know? I don’t feel like he needs to know.'”

Triple H continued, “I said, ‘Seth. If the roles were reversed on this and I didn’t tell you, you would be out of your mind pissed at me. You’re a professional in the ring, and your first thought is make sure your opponent doesn’t get hurt and all these things, and he gets hurt on your watch, and then you find out later it was all bull****? You’d be out of your mind mad that I didn’t clue you in on that.’ He paused for a few seconds, looked at me, and was like ‘fair enough’, and he never brought it up again, right? He has to know.”

The match saw LA Knight eventually pick up the pinfall victory. Rollins later returned at WWE SummerSlam: Night 1, revealing that his injury was an elaborate ruse to trick CM Punk and cash in his Money in the Bank briefcase.
