Triple H Shares Vintage WWE Backlash Promo Outtakes

WWE Chief Creative Officer Paul “Triple H” Levesque shared a clip featuring some vintage outtakes for a promo for WWE Backlash that he filmed twenty years ago. Triple H wrote in the caption, “20 years later, when they tell you aggressive ….. be AGGRESSIVE #WWEBacklash”

In one outtake for his WWE Backlash promo, Triple H yells to Stephanie McMahon offscreen, “Keep it down over there!” He then chuckles, “That’s my wife. I can talk to her like that, as long as she doesn’t hear me.” You can check out Triple H’s outtake clip below.

WWE Superstars are also getting into the spirit of the event, sharing their own versions of them, saying the “Backlash” meme (see below). Today’s WWE Backlash Tampa 2026 event takes place at the Benchmark International Arena in Tampa, Florida.

The premium live event airs live on the ESPN App in the U.S., and the first hour will also be simulcast on ESPN2 starting at 6:00 pm ET. The event will stream live on Netflix internationally.
