D-Generation X famously “invaded” WCW back in 1998, a classic WWE moment that Triple H recently reflected on. The famed moment took place on the April 27th, 1998 episode of WWE Raw. WWE and WCW were hosting shows in Hampton and Norfolk, Virginia, respectively. D-X decided to host a segment where they drove a jeep to WCW and tried to get into the venue.

Triple H spoke about the moment while giving a tour of WWE HQ to Complex. You can check out the highlights below:

On the D-X Invasion Of WCW:

Yeah. You know, it’s hard for I think, people today to understand it. Like if you go back in time to that time period, us invading WCW was just like an unthinkable moment. Like, you didn’t even talk about other things or people that left, or that were other promotions or whatever, wasn’t even brought up.

“So for us to, you know, throw these helmets on and jump on a jeep with a big cannon on the back, and ride over to their show, was unthinkable. And sort of was a paradigm shift in the business of like, ‘Okay, gloves are off. We’re going to do anything now.'”

On the Notion of Keeping DC Keeping the Same Energy In Reality:

“Yeah. 100%. And luckily for us, you know, it could have got hostile while we were there, so we had helmets on just in case.”
