A new report has an update on WWE NXT’s Lexis King after he was announced as not cleared for this week’s show. As reported on Tuesday night, King was announced on this week’s NXT as not having been cleared to compete. The reveal came after King took a hard knee to the face in an eight-man tag team match at Saturday’s NXT live event in Lakeland, Florida. While King had been feeling okay after the match, WWE ultimately did not clear him for the episode.

According to this week’s Fightful Select Debunkathon report, sources indicated that King was already feeling better within the day after NXT. The report notably does not say that King is cleared, nor when he may be. At this time, there is no word on when he may return to the ring.

King is a member of Birthright, the stable of second-generation and second-generation-affiliated wrestlers on NXT. Two members from the group will compete in the finals of the NXT Tag Team Championship #1 contenders tournament on next week’s episode of WWE NXT from Infosys Theater at Madison Square Garden in New York City. Uriah Connors and Stacks were Birthright’s participants in the tournament, though WWE has not confirmed them as the competitors in the finals against Los Americanos.
