Latest Backstage Update on WWE Star Chad Gable’s Injury

WWE star Chad Gable is reportedly moving toward an in-ring return following a shoulder injury and surgery in July. He has been away from television since June and has continued to be referenced through the El Grande Americano character, which he portrayed before the hiatus. During his absence, the masked role was filled at various times by Ludwig Kaiser, Pete Dunne, and Tyler Bate.
A report from PWInsider Elite states that Gable is expected to resume training at the WWE Performance Center within the next week. This step signals that his recovery is progressing and that preparations for a return to television are underway. It is not yet known whether he will reappear immediately on programming or follow a comeback schedule.
Chad Gable turned heel and left the American Alpha stable in 2024. He then formed a new faction, American Made, alongside The Creed Brothers. Weeks before his injury, Gable adopted the lucha libre-inspired El Grande Americano persona on RAW after losing to Penta. Americano also competed in AAA events, including a match against El Hijo del Vikingo for the AAA Mega Championship at Worlds Collide.
