Vince Russo Announces He’s Parted Ways With JCW

Vince Russo’s time in Juggalo Championship Wrestling has come to an end, announcing that he has parted ways with the company. Russo posted to Twitter on Tuesday night to announce that he and Violent J have “amicably agreed to part ways.”

Russo noted that he’s been unhappy for some time and that “something had to change,” noting that he’s not the same guy as he was 30 years ago. He expressed gratitude to the JCW locker room and Violent J.

Russo wrote:

To my BELOVED Supporters,

Over the past few weeks I have received many e-mails, dms and text messages concerning my status with @jcwlunacy.

For those of you who know me, you know I don’t hide from the truth, I don’t avoid the truth and I certainly don’t lie about the truth.

The reason for my silence was that . . . I just didn’t know. I just needed some time. I’d been unhappy for a while in @jcwlunacy and I’m not going to deny that. Something had to change.

Without getting into specifics, there were a lot of reasons with the biggest one being that at 65 . . . I’m not the same guy I was 30 years ago. Things have changed, life has changed and more importantly . . . I’ve changed.

A short while ago I had a phone conversation with Violent J and we have amicably agreed to part ways.

Hey man, it was supposed to be for a few weeks, maybe a couple of months, but we KILLED IT for an entire year.

So now . . . it’s time to move on. What the future holds . . . we shall see.

I’d like to thank Violent J—one of the kindest, gentlest, most creative souls I have ever met in my life, the @jcwlunacy locker room—who treated me with the utmost respect, and the entire crew who worked their ARSES off every day.

Yeah, it was a wild ride . . . but, now . . . maybe I can finally take that nap.

To be clear, there is always the possibility that this is a work of some kind. Russo is famously known for his love of the worked shoot angle, and there’s no way of knowing if this might be some plan for such a thing. But as of now at least, this appears on the level.

Russo began working with Juggalo Championship Wrestling in October of last year. He worked for the company as both a writer and an on-screen character.
