Juice Robinson Says He Got Rid Of His Beard Due to a Gym Accident

Juice Robinson returned to AEW without a beard and he says it wasn’t about a new look, but rather an accident in the gym. The AEW star made his return to the ring at AEW All In 2025 after being out of action with a broken fibula. He made his return without his trademarked beard and competed in the Casino Gauntlet match.

Robinson was a guest on What Happened When with Tony Schiavone and during the conversation, he noted that the removal of his beard wasn’t just a matter of changing his presentation. He recalled how he was working out in the gym and a lat pulldown cable partially ripped his beard. You can see highlights below (per F4W Online):

On Deciding to Shave it After the Accident:

“The real reason is, I got it caught in a lat pulldown cable, and it ripped like four out. I got angry, went home from the gym, and shaved it all off. When I saw it, I was like, ‘Whoa.’ I knew when I was coming back, I was like, ‘I’m taking this bitch down to the skin. I’m going to make it look shocking.’ I just wanted it to be a huge change. My thought was coming back with all black and being a little more subdued just to see how I felt and where the wind took me. I knew I would eventually find myself back to where I am now, but I kind of wanted a blank slate.”

On the Accident Itself:

“I’m pulling it down to my chest, and my beard was long and it’s going to through my beard. I’m coming off the leg injury so I’m just trying to get a lift in. I got it caught in the pulley, and it ripped like six long-a** hairs out mid-set. I was pissed. I was embarrassed. ‘What am I doing? Get rid of this sh*t.’”
