Liv Morgan defeated Stephanie Vaquer to capture the Women’s World Championship at WrestleMania 42 Saturday.

However, the match left a sour taste in everyone’s mouth, as it was inexplicably short, lasting just six minutes and 51 seconds.

Bodyslam+ has now provided details on why the match was so short. According to the wrestling insider, sources indicate that the bout was short because both Liv and Stephanie were “banged up” leading into The Showcase of the Immortals and that WWE didn’t want either to get hurt further.

Notably, Morgan suffered a concussion leading into WrestleMania after her head collided with Roxanne Perez’s head after Stephanie Vaquer pushed her from behind during a backstage segment two weeks ago on RAW. No details on why La Primera was banged up heading into ‘Mania have been revealed by BodySlam+.

Coming back to the match, interference from Raquel Rodriguez and Roxanne Perez helped Liv Morgan become a two-time Women’s World Champion. The closing moments of the match saw Liv blast Stephanie’s head on the steel steps after La Primera took out Perez and Rodriguez with a Springboard Crossbody.

Liv followed it up with a Codebreaker and her signature move, Oblivion, to put Vaquer away and claim the prestigious title.
