As previously reported, TNA X-Division Champion Leon Slater was pulled from his scheduled matchup against AEW star Ricochet for the Mark Hitchcock Memorial Supershow during WrestleCon. In response, the convention released a tribute video for the late superfan, Mark Hitchcock, for whom the show is named.
The caption reads, “It may be partner conflicts and politics to you, but it’s very personal for us.” The statement from WrestleCon references “partner conflicts,” referring to recent comments from TNA Wrestling and company president, Carlos Silva, who cited “partner conflicts” as the reason TNA talents were pulled from their earlier scheduled indie dates.
These include AEW World Champion MJF facing Nic Nemeth at CAP Monumental Moment on May 1, and that matchup will also no longer take place. Also, Moose was pulled from MLP Multiverse. It’s rumored that TNA Wrestling no longer wants its wrestlers facing AEW-contracted talent at indie shows.
As noted, MJF specifically called out TNA and Silva’s decisions for pulling its wrestlers from the indie dates, calling it “disgusting.”
