UPDATED: WWE Reportedly Discontinuing Home Video Releases Worldwide After 2023

UPDATE: Following the announcement that WWE is ending its DVD and Blu-ray releases in the UK, a new report says that this will also apply to domestic markets. As reported below, WWE Home Video UK announced that WWE has decided to “withdraw from the Home Video category” and that no licensing deals would be renewed in the new year. Wrestling DVD Network reports that this will be a worldwide decision and that WWE Home Video is coming to an end as of the end of the year. That would make Survivor Series 2023 on December 26th the final WWE Home Video release.
Haus of Wrestling has confirmed the news and spoke with a higher-up source in WWE, who told them the following:
“The home video business has long been in decline, and it will no longer be a place where the company dedicates time and resources.”
ORIGINAL: Per PWInsider, WWE has opted to discontinue its DVD and Blu-ray releases in the UK under its license with Fremantle Media. You can read Fremantle’s announcement on the decision by WWE below:
With great sadness we must announce that WWE have taken the decision to withdraw from the Home Video category. No licensing deals will be renewed after 2023.
This means the very last WWE Home Video release from Fremantle will be CROWN JEWEL 2023 (2 disc-DVD) on 18th December (UK) and 22nd December (GER).
WWE Home Video has been releasing VHS, DVD and Blu-Ray for 36 years, the last 11 through Fremantle in Europe, but this will come to an end on 31st December with no further WWE DVD or Blu-Ray stock manufactured.
Everyone at WWE Home Video UK would like to thank all of our collectors and fan for their many years of support and passion.
