WWE MAIN EVENT 10.14.14
They kick things off with a recap of the Miz and Sheamus from Raw. The Miz is kicking things off tonight with Miz TV. He thanks us a few times and tells us to stop. He calls his match from Raw with Sheamus a blockbuster sequel. He says he’s been snubbed, because he deserves gold around his waist. Miz says he wants to invite Sheamus to Miz TV tonight. Sheadow or Damienus has come out to accept the invitation. Miz says Sheamus has never looked better. Miz says it is official that Miz will take on Sheamus. Damienus says Miz deserves his title match and that he’s not out here to be aggressive. He says his saying is he loves to fight in an awesome accent. He says that Miz owns him everytime he steps into the ring. He says it is bad enough that he is far better looking and talented, and he admits that Miz is a better fighter. Miz thanks him for the compliments. Damienus starts singing Sheamus theme song and putting over the stunt double, Damien Mizdow. Miz tells him not to improvise. Damienus says Miz deserves the title not someone mistaken for a fast food clown. Damienus hands Miz the United States Championship. They take a picture with it.
Sheamus decides to interrupt the proceedings. Damienus stands next to Sheamus. Sheamus holds up the real United States Championship, and says it is way bigger. Sheamus laughs at Damienus and calls it great. Sheamus says it is gold that Miz thinks he deserves the United States Championship for doing nothing. Damienus mocks Sheamus’ every move and the crowd laughs. Miz says he is an A-list movie star and his talent speaks for himself, thank you. Sheamus pauses due to Damienus. Sheamus starts laughing. Sheamus says he loves this. Sheamus says that Damienus is great, and calls it pure gold. They chant Mizdow Sheamus. Sheamus says he is considered a comedic back home and attacks Damienus to boos. Sheamus says it is slapstick, as Miz decides to leave. Sheamus says his next big project is ain’t that a kick in the head hitting Damienus with the Brogue Kick.
Big E will go up against Rusev tonight.
We go to a commercial.
Tyson Kidd is making his way to the ring upon our return. Tyson has a mic and says two things that will never lie to you our facts and cats. They chant Nattie is better. Tyson says he wears the pants in the family, fact. Tyson says tonight he proves to be more than Nattie’s husband, and that is more than the truth a fact.
R-Truth comes out singing what’s up. The crowd is really into R-Truth interestingly enough.
Tyson Kidd with Natalya vs. R-Truth
The bells rings and Tyson charges Truth, but ends up in a headlock. A shoulderblock by R-Truth sends him to the ground. R-Truth hits on Nattie, which really pisses off Tyson. R-Truth takes advantage until Kidd clips the legs. Kidd starts stomping him into a corner and choking him. Kidd drives Truth’s head into the corner and puts him in the tree of woe. Tyson wanted Nattie’s help in the match, but Nattie refused. Kidd goes back in the ring and starts kicking Truth in a corner before hitting a catapult into the buckle. 1..2..kickout. Kidd hits a snapmare and tight headlock grounding Truth. Truth lifts out of Tyson’s headlock hitting a belly-to-back suplex. Both men are down slowly recovering. Truth gets up first hitting a clothesline until Tyson catches him in a Dragon Screw. Nattie got onto the apron causing a distraction to Kidd. Truth hits the Jumping Complete Shot. 1..2..3.

MATCH THOUGHTS: This match furthered the story and was relatively entertaining due to Tyson controlling the match. I’m not sure how I feel about an R-Truth victory, but it was decent for what it was and came on a distraction. This match was a good way to start off Main Event tonight.
We got to another commercial break. Cesaro in a prerecorded promo says that Dolph will get into the swing of things.
Cesaro vs. Justin Gabriel
Justin locks up with Cesaro and gets a go behind. Gabriel smartly rolls out of it with an arm ringer, and they chain wrestle leading to a Cesaro go behind. They trade headlocks and Cesaro escapes elbowing Gabriel hard. Cesaro connects on stiff chops, and Gabriel smartly fights back. Justin gets a nice headscissors for a 1 count. Justin gets a crucifix, but Cesaro kicks out at 1. Cesaro gets annoyed now sending Justin into a corner and following with a stiff clothesline. Cesaro chokes Gabriel with his own arms, but Gabriel fights to a vertical base. Cesaro quickly flings him across the ring with a back body drop and a double foot stomp. Cesaro plays to the crowd and lifts Gabriel to his feet. The two trade strikes, but Cesaro keeps regaining the advantage with his own strikes. Cesaro pulls him off the turnbuckle and grounds him in the arm choke again. Gabriel keeps fighting back and hitting a spinning crescent kick, and a dropkick. Cesaro goes for a tilt-a-whirl that Justin counters with a Reverse DDT. 1..2..kickout. Gabriel starts forearming Cesaro and they trade whips. Justin misses a moonsault, and Cesaro quickly hits the Neturalizer. 1..2..3.
OFFICIAL RESULT: Cesaro @ 5:00 via pin
MATCH THOUGHTS: This match is what you’d expect. I liked the work of both men, and this was a nice extended squash for Cesaro. Gabriel got in a little offense too giving the match a semi-competitive edge. Nonetheless, good work from both men in this one.
We go to another commercial break.
They recap the problems between Ambrose and Cena, along with the match they had on Raw last night. The announcers discuss the two Hell in a Cell matches added to Hell in a Cell. Rusev comes out and they show his match with Big Show from Raw last night. Big Show will go one on one with Rusev at Hell in a Cell.
Lana has the microphone and speaks Russian. Rusev tells the crowd to shut up, as a loud USA chant erupts across the arena. Lana tells them to shut up! Lana speaks more Russian glaring at the crowd. Lana tells them to shut up again. She calls Big Show a coward and Mark Henry pathetic. If America was an animal New York is the head, Los Angeles is the tail, and this part of Alabama is the unshaved armpit. Rusev calls Big Show the anus. Rusev warns Big Show that he’ll tear him apart. Big E’s music hits and he cuts them off.
Rusev with Lana vs. Big E
Rusev and Big E lock up and neither man gets the advantage. They do so again leading to another stalemate. Big E ducks a clothesline and the both of them hit shoulderblocks. They start trading punches and knees that Rusev gets the best of. Rusev pounds him down until Big E catches him in a powerful backbreaker. Rusev retreats the ring biding his time. Rusev tricks Big E into a hotshot. The crowd loudly chants for Big E. Rusev continues his onslaught in a corner though, but Big E reverses a whip and hits running shoulder thrusts. Rusev regroups again on the outside. Big E follows him to the outside and attacks him leading to a Rusev counter toss into the barricade. Rusev lifts Big E hitting a fallaway slam on the outside. The referee starts counting down and we go to another commercial break, presumably the last.
Rusev has Big E in a front face-lock upon our return. Rusev hits a few knees to the midsection and some clubbering blows. Rusev starts stomping him down mercilessly. Big E slowly gets to a vertical base, but Rusev sends him back down with a grounded cobra clutch. Big E begins to fight out and Rusev goes for a suplex. Big E reverses his suplex attempt into a suplex of his own. Both men recover slowly and Big E misses a quick charge hitting his shoulder onto the post. Rusev retains the advantage on a front facelock. Loud Let’s go Big E chants ring throughout the arena. Big E keeps trying to fight back and Rusev keeps cutting him off. Rusev hits a corner charge and goes for another. Big E catches him in an overhead Belly-to-Belly suplex. Big E starts fighting with Rusev as they trade punches. Big E goes for another Belly-to-Belly that is countered. Big E hits a leaping clothesline and another Belly-to-Belly suplex. 1..2..kickout. Big E hits a shoulder thrust, but Rusev regains the advantage quickly taunting Big E. Big E catches Rusev in a corner uranage. 1..2..kickout. Big E tears the straps down and goes for the splash until Rusev ends that with a kick. Lana signals the crush and Rusev locks in the accolade. Big E tries to fight it, and he does for a short while. It all goes to waste though, as he has to succumb to the accolade.

MATCH THOUGHTS: This was the best match of the night, and they got time unlike the other matches. Rusev and Big E didn’t have a complete copy of their previous matches either. This was a good match to end the night.
FINAL THOUGHTS: All of the matches were competitive and we got to see some talents we rarely see as of late. I liked all the wrestling and I can’t complain too much with the opening segment. Miz TV was fun to watch due to Mizdow Sheamus. Everything on this show was good and furthered the stories. This was a good edition of Main Event tonight. Thanks to all who read the recap.
