WWE News: Excerpt on Roman Reigns Receiving Most Hated Wrestler of the Year Award, Forbes Column on Why Reigns Getting the Award Could be a Good Thing, The Miz and Maryse Appear at Veteran Charity Event

As previously reported, Roman Reigns was voted the Most Hated Wrestler of the Year for 2016 by readers for Pro Wrestling Illustrated. Here is an excerpt from PWI on Reigns receiving the award:

ā€Here’s a guy who fights honorably and abides by the rules. He has proven loyal and dedicated to family and friends. He always conducts himself as a gentleman, never ducks a challenge, and has managed to overcome the odds every time they seem stacked against him. And the fans boo the crap out of him. More than a quarter of our respondents cast their vote for Roman Reigns as the Most Hated Wrestler of the Year, marking the first time in the history of the PWI Achievement Awards that a so-called “fan favorite” has won this distinction.ā€

Forbes published a column by Alfred Konuwa looking at Roman Reigns receiving the distinct honor of being voted the Most Hated Wrestler of the Year by PWI and why it could be a good thing. Other people who got voted for the award include Kurt Angle, Diamond Dallas Page, Chris Jericho, and Rick Rude, who all became big stars with historic careers.

Thanks so much to this whole crew for stepping up on a whim to help our #mvp vets! #Repost @mikethemiz with @repostapp 惻惻惻 Had a blast supporting @mergingvetsandplayers #MVP It's the very least I could do for all the men and women who fight for our freedom. Participating in @wwe Tribute To The Troops every year has given me the opportunity to meet many of our armed forces as well as witness first hand the life a soldier leads while at war and trust me from what I've seen they are braver then I could ever be. Through studying for The Marine I listened, read, talked to many soldiers and learned that when they are done with their duty some have trouble acclimating to the "normal" life. When @jayglazer first told me about MVP I applauded his ability to find a way for vets and professional sports athletes to come together and form a team. A team where they can talk, help, push one another into a positive direction. Give them drive, a purpose. I deem MVP #Awesome. I thank all of our men and women who are serving and have served in our armed forces. You all are #TrueHeroes. Check out charitybuzz.com to bid on items as well as donate to this amazing cause.
