WWE Raw Rating, Viewership Drop Against Monday Night Football Premiere
To little surprise, WWE Raw saw its numbers drop against the premiere of Monday Night Football. Last night’s episode brought in a 0.44 rating in the 18 – 49 demographic and 1.710 million viewers, down 24.1% and 16.8% from last week’s 0.58 demo rating and 2.054 million viewers. The demo rating was the lowest for the show since July 11th episode also had a 0.44, while the audience was the worst since the Fourth of July episode scored 1.5693 million.
The drop was not at all unexpected, considering that Raw always drops when Monday Night Football returns. The NFL game won the night to no shock with a combined 5.01 demo rating and 18.291 million viewers between ESPN and ABC, per Showbuzz Daily. Last night also saw the 2022 Emmy Awards air on NBC, which had a 1.09 demo rating and 5.924 million viewers. The Emmys had a moch stronger female demographic than male, which means it likely had less of an effect on Raw’s numbers than MNF.
Raw ranked #7 among cable originals for the night, with all the top six programs being MNF-related. Raw’s hourly numbers were:
8 PM: 0.45 demo rating (1.783 million viewers)
9 PM: 0.48 demo rating (1.821 million viewers)
10 PM: 0.45 demo rating (1.525 million viewers)
Raw is averaging a 0.48 demo rating and 1.791 million viewers in 2022, compared to a 0.53 and 1.80 million viewers for the same time period in 2021.
