– According to a report by Fightful, World Wrestling Entertainment is slated to hold its next event in Saudi Arabia on Friday, May 3. The company last visited the country in November 2018 for the Crown Jewel event that was held at the King Saud University Stadium in Riyadh. The event was broadcast live on the WWE Network.

This will be the latest WWE event in the country since the promotion signed a 10-year partnership with the Saudi General Sports Authority in March 2018. The Saudi General Sports Authority sponsored both the Greatest Royal Rumble and Crown Jewel events last year. The plan included bringing WWE events to the region in sport of Vision 2030, which is Saudi Arabia’s social and economic reform program.

The first event under the partnership was the Greatest Royal Rumble, which was held in April 2018. The wrestling promotion received a great deal of criticism for moving forward with November’s Crown Jewel card. The event took place after the death of journalist Jamal Khashoggi and the Saudi government’s reported involvement with his death. Ultimately, WWE moved forward with the event as planned. However, promotional efforts downplayed the location being in Saudi Arabia on television.

World Wrestling Entertainment has not yet confirmed or announced the event, or if the card will air on the WWE Network.
