WWE Reportedly Sought To Film at Starrcast For Upcoming Documentary

WWE wanted to film some footage at Starrcast V for a future documentary, according to a new report. According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, WWE reached out in order to broker a deal with the event to film portions for a documentary. The report notes that WWE had discussions with Conrad Thompson, who wanted to use WWE-owned footage — likely Crockett-era footage that WWE owned — in exchange.
The two sides were not able to come to a deal for either side’s requests. However, the report notes it is likely that WWE will be able to make a deal for some footage later, similar to how AEW was able to strike a deal with the event to show Mance Warner winning the Bunkhouse Battle Royal from Ric Flair’s Last Match to promote Warner’s match with Jon Moxley.
Starrcast V took place throughout the weekend, with Ric Flair’s Last Match going down on Sunday night.
