411’s LIVE WWE Raw Report 7.20.15

* Welcome.

* Tony got called into work so you got me tonight, which means no review from me.

* We get highlights from last night’s WWE Battleground PPV, which featured the return of The Undertaker.

UNDERTAKER ON RAW: The Undertaker makes his way to the ring to kick off the show. After looking around for a bit, he informs us that he stands here a remorseless, cold-blooded, vengeful, grim reaper. “Streaks are made to be broken, that is the painful truth, but Lesnar, you had to continuously, week after week, month after month, remind everyone of your greatest accomplishment. And now, I say enough. You have taken what once was smoldering ashes and turned it into a raging inferno. Last night was my true resurrection. You see, you can’t kill what won’t die. Our careers will now head towards new destinies, and I will challenge your mortality, I will conquer what has yet to be conquered. And in the end, just like all living things, be it man or beast, you will rest in peace”.

* Triple H and Steph are watching backstage, and say that Summerslam will be epic due to Lesnar and Taker’s rematch. Triple H plans to call Heyman because he’s worried about what will happen if Brock arrives tonight.

* John Cena, Randy Orton and Cesaro vs. Kevin Owens, Rusev and Sheamus is announced as the main event. I thought WWE announced that Cena would defend the US Title tonight?

* Sasha, Naomi and Tamina are at the commentary table.

Brie lays the boots to Charlotte, and goes back to the chinlock. Brie then releases, and connects with a dropkick off the second ropes, and gets the cover for 2. Charlotte catches the kick of Brie, and then lays in some chops. Neck breaker follows and then a clothesline connects, the cover gets 2. Charlotte looks for the figure four, but Nikki distracts her and Charlotte tosses her to the floor. Spear by Charlotte to Brie. Charlotte locks in the figure four, gets the bridge and Brie taps.

OFFICIAL RESULT: Charlotte @ 9:02 via submission

* Lesnar vs. Taker is official for Summerslam.

* Triple H is on the phone to Heyman, and says Taker vs. Lesnar is the Summerslam main event. Miz tries to interrupt as Triple H tells Heyman to give Lesnar the night off. He then tells him to grow a set and for them not to come tonight. Miz complained that Big Show KOd him last night, and Triple H doesn’t care and books Miz vs. Show. He then tells “Obi-Wan” to leave.

Non-Title Match: Champions The Primetime Players (Young & O’Neil) vs. Los Matadores w/Torito: Young and a Matadore to begin, Young in control with the arm drag and looks to work the arm. The Matadore escapes, and Young hits a knee to the gut and then a knee drop. The Matadore fights back, off the ropes and a forearm by Young connects. He charges but gets tripped into the ropes, and the Matadores take over, as one gets the blind tag and hits a slingshot senton and covers for 2. Knee lift and then a springboard something by a Matadore gets 2. Quick tags by the Matadores, double Russian leg sweep follows and the Matadore covers for 2. Young tries to make his comeback, but the Matadore with chops to cut him off. Young manages an overhead belly to belly and both men are down. Crazy tag to Titus, who runs wild and just tosses the Matadore’s around. Titus hits the corner splash and then a pounce on a Matadore. Young with the apron back breaker on the other Matadore, and then New Day comes out. They are here to congratulate the PTP, in the middle of the match. This leads to a backstabber from a Matadore and Titus gets pinned.

OFFICIAL RESULT: Los Matadores @ 4:10 via pin

* New Day then mocks the champions, and informs them that they are, in fact, the worst.

The Miz vs. The Big Show: Miz bails o the floor right away, but Show grabs him and tosses him back into the ring. Show tosses Miz around, chases but Miz lays the boots to him. Big shoulder block by Show follows, to the corner and chops by Show connect. Slam by Show, he then slams Miz down again, heads to the second rope and hits the elbow drop, and that is all.

OFFICIAL RESULT: Big Show @ 1:29 via pin

* Post match Show cuts a promo and kicks Miz a few times, questioning if he is still missing. He then says that Ryback and his IC Title are missing, and then promises to feed Ryback his fist and take back his IC Title. He even challenges Ryback to come to Tough Enough tomorrow night.

* Triple H and Steph are in the back, Heyman arrives, and they are not pleased. Heyman says Lesnar is not here, and that he accepts the main event match at Summerslam. He just ants to deliver his client’s message tonight. They don’t trust him and decide that they need more security.

* After the break, they get the locker room together and say that the Summerslam main event is important. You guys are operation cannon fodder, and will be the first lien of defense if things get out of hand. They aren’t asking, they are telling them.

Paul Heyman Talks: Heyman introduces himself, and says Lesnar should be the world champion right now. Heyman says that the only reason Lesnar is not the champion is because f the Undertaker. Heyman says that fir the first time since 2014, Lesnar and Taker went face to face. He also makes sure to remind us that Lesnar was the one to defeat the streak. Heyman knows that this bothers the fans, but also knows that it pisses off Undertaker. But Undertaker waited over 460 days to exact his revenge. Heyman admits to bragging about Lesnar bragging the streak, but why wouldn’t he? So many tried to end the streak, HBK,HHH, Flair, Edge, Batista, Orton; and they all failed. But Lesnar did not fail, he succeeded and ended the streak. And now Undertaker is back for revenge, he’s larger than death and has decided to go for revenge now, just when Lesnar was about to win the title back. And now at Summerslam, Lesnar faces Undertaker. Heyman then reminds Taker, repeatedly, that Lesnar broke the streak. This of course brought out Undertaker, who did the mysterious “hey I’m here in the ring” entrance. Heyman begged off, and then Lesnar appeared and charged the ring. They brawled and then Triple H sent out security to get murdered. Well he sent them out to break it up, but they failed and got beat down. The locker room geeks then appeared, leading to a big pull apart in the ring. Lesnar escaped and attacked again before they were pulled apart. The crowd loved this, and just as it looked as if Lesnar was being pulled to the back he escaped again and charged in to fight more. Taker then escaped and they brawled, Lesnar yelled, “I’M GOING TO KILL YOU” and Taker responded, “YOU’RE GONNA HAVE TO!”

* Post break Lesnar was being escorted out but Undertaker attacked again. Lesnar jumped onto a pile of geeks to try and get to Taker and had to be separated again. Bo Dallas trying to hold Lesnar back was the best part of this. Almost as good was R Truth trying to soothe Brock as he was being zip cuffed.

* And now we get replays of what we JUST WATCHED.

* Seth Rollins met with Steph and Triple H. Rollins loved the fight, and planned to say a lot to both, but he’s glad that they are gone so he doesn’t lose his temper. But never fear, he’s going to go out and address the WWE Universe.

* Wyatt says that he’s never alone, and his family is still by his side. They know that he is more than flash and blood, he is an enigma, a revolution who sees through the lies. He sees reigns for what he truly is. But the fans chose him and anointed him, and now, they all burn for it. Harper says that this is just the beginning, and it will never stop. Piece by piece, and brick by brick, until there is nothing left. Wyatt adds the “anyone but you Roman, anyone but you” line.

* Before the match could begin, Dean Ambrose appeared to even the odds.

Luke Harper w/Bray Wyatt vs. Roman Reigns w/Dean Ambrose: Lock up to begin, they work to the corner and Reigns with a clean break. Lock up again, to the corner and Harper then breaks clean. Harper then connects with uppercuts, but Reigns battles back and takes him to the corner and connects with the mounted rights. Clothesline follows for Reigns, and then he lays the boots to Harper. Harper then punches Reigns in the throat, to the corner and Reigns bounces back with the clothesline. Harper to the floor, and then after a short break is back in. Reigns takes control and works over Harper in the corner with rights. Corner clothesline by Reigns, but Harper back with the boot but Reigns counters the suplex and Harper again bails to the floor. We head to a commercial…

Back from commercial as Harper is in control with the WWE Mandated chinlock. Reigns tries to escape, but Harper slams him down by the arm, which he has been working on and off. And them instead of working the arm Harper goes back to the chinlock. Reigns fights to his feet, escapes but Harper avoids the charge and Reigns crashes to the floor. Reigns makes it back in at 9, and then Harper lays the boots and knee drops to the injured arm. Uppercuts by Harper follow, tries to work the arm by Reigns fires back with rights and then gets one-armed back suplex. Reigns to the floor, Wyatt gets in his way and eats a right. Reigns then hits the apron dropkick on Harper and Rowan. Wyatt then drags Reigns to the floor for the DQ.

OFFICIAL RESULT: Roman Reigns @ 13:05 via DQ

* Ambrose joins the fray and we have the big brawl at ringside. Reigns is too beat down, so Harper and Rowan work over Ambrose and then beat down Reigns some more. Harper applies a modified crossface, but Ambrose is back and makes the save. Reigns manages to hit the Superman punch on Wyatt and the former Shield member stand tall.

* More highlights from Battleground.

Seth Rollins Talks: Rollins greets the crowd, and then asks them how it feels to be wrong about him again? They all underestimated him because they brought into Heyman’s propaganda. Lesnar destroyed his expensive Cadillac, took out J&J and also injured “that sack of crap” Kane. The fans thought he wouldn’t get out alive and certainly wouldn’t have his title when it was over. But he’s still here, and he’s still the champion. He doesn’t give a damn about Brock Lesnar, and he’s the most under appreciated champion in WWE history. E went face to face with the beast, he took everything he had and he’s still here and is still being disrespected. He has faced every challenge in front of him and walked out with his title, and that all that matters. He is the end all be all of champions in this industry. Lesnar’s past caught up with him last night, and if he was smart he would have bailed like Rollins did. If you play with fire, you’re going to get burned. But Rollins feels robbed following Battleground, and asks Lilian Garcia to enter the ring. He then asks her to make the announcement that he is still the WWE Champion. She starts to say by disqualification and such, and Rollins makes sure to correct her. Rollins stands tall with the title, and then John Cena makes his way out. Cena says no one has to put up with Rollins’ crap any longer. Rollins has no idea why Cena would be here and says he has nothing to do with Cena, but congratulates him for doing “a fine job” as US Champion. Rollins tries to leave, but Cena is here to thank him. They became champions the same night, but everyone knows that his title reign means excellence. He thanks Rollins for being such a slimy, weasel faced suck up sell out poor excuse for a champion. Actions speak louder than words, and Rollins makes people lose faith in the WWE Title, and gain respect for the US Title. Rollins mocks Cena’s reign as US Champion, and Rollins says people have to earn a shot as his title. Rollins then says the US Challenge is about Cena’s ego because he can’t stand that the people hate him. Rollins says to keep doing his thing and he’ll keep being the world champion, He tries to leave and Cena tells him to keep running as he always does. It’s the man that makes the title, and calls Rollins a joke, he then challenges Rollins to man up. They tease a fight, but Rollins bails. Cena says the champ is here. End segment.
