WWE Reportedly Interested in Shinsuke Nakamura
According to The Wrestling Observer Newsletter, WWE is reportedly interested in signing NJPW IC Champion Shinsuke Nakamura. Outside of his ROH appearances, Nakamura has not had a lot of US exposure, but is interested in becoming a star in the US. WWE likes that he is tall, which is a current management knock on Hideo Itami in regards to moving him onto the main roster. But Nakamura is 36, and that is not an age that WWE likes to start guys in NXT at. Samoa Joe or James Storm are said to be different cases, as the ideas for them were strictly NXT, Nakamura would likely start in NXT before moving onto the main roster. New Japan’s Takaaki Kidani has previously said that they may have to offer seven figure or near seven figure deals to top guys to keep them from exploring a jump to WWE.
