411’s AAA/CMLL Report 5.23.05
Welcome to Lucha Libre on 411! Its week #13, and I’m your tour guide through Mexico’s second favorite sport, “The Professor” Newton Gimmick! We’ve got a big show to cover tonight, so I’m going to get right down to the basics. Tonight’s AAA show is the special Rey de Reyes show. If you follow Lucha at all, you’ve heard of this. If not, Rey de Reyes stands for King of Kings, and is a pay-per-view type of program. They don’t really do PPVs in Mexico, so this is the supercard on TV for free. So sit down, grab a Corona or your favorite Mexican brew, and enjoy Rey de Reyes with me!
5.23.05
Hator opens the show, by downing AAA, and saying that LLL is numero uno! He also slips a cuss word in there. How do I know that? Because they bleeped him. Then Arturo Rivera (Who I hate BTW) opens the rest of the show up, with his fellow comentaristas (That’s Spanish for commentators, see you are LEARNING!) Andres Mardanas and Jesus Zuniga hype today’s super big Rey de Reyes show.
Tiffany, La Diabolica, Princessa Sujei versus Lady Apache, Faby Apache, Princessa Blanca
This is a match that was setup last week. Well actually Tiffany the current champion, has been feuding with Lady Apache for a while now. Ever since she beat Apache for the belt, right here in this LUCHA LIBRE REPORT! Several weeks ago. Anyway Diabolica and Tiffany got into it last week, and Diabolica believes she has a claim to the title. Still they are both rudos and are on the same team again this week, but there is some tension still. Tiffany slips on the top rope during her introduction and it brings laughter from the crowd, and perhaps a smile from Diabolica who is all up in her business. Princessa Sujei you know from past shows, and she was here last week though her name was spelled a little different. The Apaches you SHOULD know by now. Lady is the older tougher broad, while Faby is the talented younger cute girl. Princessa Blanca is pretty talented and isn’t hard on the eyes at all.
BANG A GONG, and we’re on. Princessa Sujei gets out of the ring, as Diabolica gets all up in Lady Apache’s face. Apache pushes her back a bit, but Diabolica does a double leg pickup on Lady Apache and tries to sit her on the top rope (not the turnbuckle though) and Apache headscissors Diabolica over the top rope and to the floor. How’s that for effective? That causes Princessa Sujei to enter for her team, to battle it out with Princessa Blanca. Its the BATTLE OF THE PRINCESSES! I like it when these two fight cause I get to shout that out every time. Actually I don’t really shout it out, I just type it in all caps. Though it is a interesting concept to think that I might be sitting here shouting these sorts of things out. Princessa Sujei wastes no time kicking Blanca in her ample rump. Which I think Princessa Sujei gets a kick out of. Pardon the pun. Repeated kicks to Blanca’s buns by Princessa Sujei. Blanca takes few more, then they criss-cross each other a bit, leading to Blanca hitting a deep arm drag takedown. Princessa Sujei grabs a armbar, but Princessa Blanca leaps to the second rope and backflips off of it into a armdrag, that sends Princessa Sujei halfway across the ring. Just once I want to do that in a real fight, backflip off a car and armdrag someone halfway across the parking lot, and not die in the process. Anyway Princessa Sujei grabs Blanca, but Princessa Blanca lifts her up and slams Princessa Sujei down, basically making Sujei senton the canvas. Then Blanca follows her in and DROPKICKS her right in the head, Princessa Sujei is drowzzy as Dusty Rhodes would say. I miss WCW Saturday Night. Princessa Sujei irish whips Princessa Blanca and she tags out to Lady Apache. Apache tries to sneak up to the top rope and hit a sunset flip on Princessa Sujei, but Sujei just side steps it. Lady Apache gets right up to her feet and springboards onto the middle rope for a cross body block, but again Princessa Sujei avoids contact. Kudos to Princessa Sujei, who is very talented. Kick to the back by Princessa Sujei. Lady Apache comes back with a spinning torture rack, but Princessa Sujei slips out the back of it and arm drags Lady Apache. Lady tags out to Faby Apache, and Faby bounces off the ropes only to have Princessa Sujei kick the legs out from underneath her and then WAFFLE Faby with a kick to the head. Princessa Sujei is one tough bitch that’s for sure. Faby continues to look like she’s picking up weight, even to the point where she’s sporting shorts this week as opposed to panty-style bottoms. La Diabolica gets tagged in, and Faby sends her into the ropes, Faby ducks down expecting La Diabolica to leapfrog, but instead La Diabolica drops a elbow on Faby. That’s a rudo for ya. La Diabolica kicks her in the head, but when she sends Faby to the turnbuckle corner, Lady Apache is there to grab Faby, and she lifts her into the air and tosses her at La Diabolica for a flying headscissors. Good teamwork by the Apaches. Lady is now the legal woman, and charges at La Diabolica, but Tiffany sneaks in and La Diabolica and Tiffany hit a double shoulderblock, taking Lady Apache down. Lady gets a hand from Faby, and they brawl it out with La Diabolica and Tiffany. In comes Sujei and in Blanca and its a PIER SIX BRAWL! The femme fatale edition. Lady Apache hooks La Diabolica up into the ropes and applies the TARANTULA! Here comes Tiffany, and she breaks that up. Sujei and Tiffany double team Lady Apache. Here comes La Diabolica…BRONCO BUSTER! Lady Apache gets a bronco buster from La Diabolica. FACE FULL OF STUFF! Lady Apache finally escapes the pelvic poundings of La Diabolica, and rolls out of the ring. Princessa Blanca comes in and dropkicks La Diabolica, then turns around and gets missile dropkicked by Tiffany. Lady Apache off the top rope, flying cross body connects with Tiffany. Both women to their feet, and Tiffany ducks a clothesline and grabs Lady Apache in a full nelson. She calls for La Diabolica to do something to her, and Diabolica unloads a stiff chop to the bresticles of Lady Apache. Still not satisfied, Tiffany tells La Diabolica to do more, and La Diabolica bounces off the ropes, but Lady Apache ducks out of the full nelson and La Diabolica CLOBBERS Tiffany with a axe bomber. Tiffany and La Diabolica begin to argue, and Lady Apache helps Princessa Blanca deliver a split leg dropkick to both the rudas! Faby fakes out a plancha, and then Blanca nails one on Tiffany. Lady Apache then follows up with a plancha onto both women. Faby signals she’s going to do one, but then gets kicked in the back of the head by La Diabolica. Diabolica is very proud of herself. La Diabolica tries to help Princessa Sujei do a plancha, but she about kills herself in the process, but does manage to hit Blanca. La Diabolica and Faby fight in the ring, and then Diabolica gets sent into the ropes where she does a beautiful flip dive through the middle ropes onto the pile of women outside. Faby climbs to the top rope…..CORCKSCREW PLANCHA! SHADES OF HECTOR GARZA! Blanca tries to climb into the ring off the top rope, but Tiffany grabs her and nails a crucifix drop powerbomb, and that leads to the three count. This is under trios rules, which require the CAPTAIN to the be pinned, or TWO of the other opponents. The Captains are Tiffany and Lady Apache respectively, so this match is still going. Faby grabs up Princessa Sujei and nails a butterfly facebuster, and that leads to a three count. We’re tied, 1 to 1! La Diabolica kicks Faby in the back of the head. Clothesline to Faby. La Diabolica nails ANOTHER clothesline. Faby stops a third, and nails the CHICK KICK! Shades of you know who. Faby holds Diabolica, but Lady Apache flies into the ring with a dropkick that ends up hitting Faby! La Diabolica all over Lady Apache with kicks and punches. Violently pounding Lady’s head into the canvas. Tiffany pulls La Diabolica off of Lady Apache, and begins stomping Apache herself. She’s trying to steal La Diabolica’s fame! La Diabolica watches on, unimpressed. Tiffany bounces off the ropes but Lady Apache kips up and dropkicks her out of the ring. La Diabolica goes back to working Lady Apache over, but as she bounces off the ropes, TIFFANY PULLS HER OUTSIDE OF THE RING! La Diabolica and Tiffany begin exchanging blows. This team has finally fallen apart. While they exchange blows here comes Lady Apache with a HUGE slap to both women. Lady throws Tiffany into the guardrail. Oh that’s a mistake, Tiffany and La Diabolica may hate each other, but they hate Lady Apache more. They begin double teaming Lady Apache. Faby Apache is apparently hurt on the outside, as a doctor is attending to her. As the three ladies brawl outside, the referees count both teams out. La Diabolica tries to make it into the ring in time, but the ref says she’s too late. La Diabolica and Tiffany brawl with Lady Apache into the ring. Now La Diabolica and Tiffany are brawling. Its a three way brawl and the referees argue over who’s the winner. One ref says the Rudo team is the winner, while the other ref says the tecnico team is the winner. The agree to disagree and call it a draw! La Diabolica, Tiffany and Lady Apache continue to brawl it out as we head to commercial!
WINNERS: DRAW!
– See hot bands like La Ley, and Memo Barrio on Al Fin De Semana!

– Amerikash wants to give you a credit card. Up to $125,000, which seems like a awful lot. LLAME YA!
Verdict: A good women’s match. I’m a bit upset with the finish being a draw, however it works for the angle. Tiffany, La Diabolica and Lady Apache has this growing rivalry that is tearing the teams apart. It was a wild brawl, and a pretty hot match. Both teams scored a pin, and then both captains got counted out. If nothing else its a original ending, if a slightly unsatisfying one. I have to wonder if Faby Apache isn’t pregnant or something. She did next to nothing in this match, and as I’ve said before her weight gain is quite noticeable. Perhaps she’s preggers and keeping her ring work to a minimum. Just a thought.
We’re back and La Diabolica and Tiffany are still going at it. Princessa Blanca and Princess Sueji are fighting it out now in the ring. Everyone gets separated, as we get a crowd shot. Someone has a sign that says “PARKA EL ES #1!” Then we see another sign that says “PARKA ERAS EL ES REY DE REYES!”. Wow, La Parka is very popular. Interestingly enough the Rey De Reyes logo is the EXACT same as the old original King of the Ring logo, only it says Rey de Reyes as opposed to King of the Ring. Wonder who had that logo first??
– Peritame Tantito is about the strangest show on the planet. So go watch it Sundays at 9pm!

We’re back and its time for a special attraction, its a KICKBOWING MATCH! See this is a special event and all, so they are trotting out the oddities. This is a shoot fight under kickboxing rules. Fair enough. 3 Rounds I suppose.
Ty Landez vs Humberto Gabuz
ROUND 1: Humberto tries a spin kick, but Ty lands some solid body shots. Ty with a front kick that lands. Ty is a short stout guy, while Humberto is a taller much more pumped guy. Ty with a jumping roundhouse kick, but it misses. He does get a backhand though. Ty with a series of lefts and rights, and a side kick. Ty slips and Humberto pops him a couple of times. Humberto tries a standing side kick, but Ty kicks his legs. Ty hits a few punches, then misses some kicks, and they slug it out to the bell.
Newton’s Score Card for Round #1: Well it was pretty even round, with no one hitting anything major. However Ty was much more aggressive, and what was hit, was hit by Ty. So this round goes to Ty.
Replay shows Ty hit a couple decent shots in Round #1.
ROUND #2: Humberto seems very tenative. They clench up close and Ty just unloads with shots to the head and chest. Uppercut. Humberto goes down. He gets up at about 7. Replay shows that a straight right took him down after the uppercut. Looked brutal. If Humberto was timid before, he’s just scared now. He avoids Ty, who continues to try and pepper him with punches. Both men throw some kicks that go nowhere. Humberto avoids him til the bell.
Newton’s Score Card for Round #2: Pretty easy round for Ty Landez. Not only was he more aggressive, but he got a solid knockdown. Had he gotten a few more shots in on Humberto, I think the fight would have been over. Credit to Humberto for avoiding the knockout blow though and lasting the round. Still that’s 2 rounds for Ty, so Humberto will need a KO to win.
ROUND #3: This is the final round. Humberto with some more aggressive punches and kicks to open the round, but they have nothing on them. He tries a backleg front kick, but Ty just hammers him and he goes down. The ref calls it a slip, but as he stands up Ty just pounds him. Ty is tiring heavily, and Humberto tries some stiff kicks. He pops Ty pretty good with a shot to the face, and the ref pulls them apart to check Ty’s nose. Ty comes back with some pounding, and hits a spinning backhand. Humberto goes for the gold and tries to do a jumping sidekick, but it just grazes Ty and Humberto ends the final round on his back (From his own move though)
Newton’s Score Card for Round #3: Best round for Humberto, but he still didn’t do enough to turn the tide. Ty was more tired then anything.
WINNER: Ty Landez
It appears the judges agree with me, as they give it to Ty. Not that it was really any doubt.
– Order the perfume catalog! Get all your favorite smells in ONE place! Royalty Perfume Club!
– LLAME YA! Get the Amerikash credit Card!
– ACCION! Its Footbal Mexicano!
Verdict: Well it wasn’t as bad as like Bart Gunn/Butterbean or anything. Still not the best kickboxing bout I’ve ever seen either. The guy who didn’t look like he should be a kick boxer was much better then the guy who looked like a kick boxer, so kudos to that. This was different, and cool I guess for their little PPV deal, but nothing special.
We’re back and Intocable has a interview. He says AAA is the best, and he also mentions that he just got over a bad case of the shits. I DON’T SPEAK SPANISH!
HARDCORE MATCH: Mr. Aguila, Hator, Tinieblas Jr. versus Intocable, El Zorro, Anibal Jr.
This is a continuation of several weeks of feuding with Hator/Aguila and Intocable/Zorro. Aguila carries a ladder down to the ring with him. Tinieblas has the most ridiculous entrance. He’s a heel, but he acts like a superhero walking down the aisle. Anywho, entrances are cut short as Aguila attacks Intocable with the ladder during his entrance. Zorro sneaks up behind the rudos and lays into them with his singapore cane. Hator gets the brunt of it. Aguila and Tinieblas double team Intocable, until Anibal runs to the ring and dropkicks Tinieblas over the top rope to the floor. Anibal and Tinieblas fight on the floor. Tinieblas gets thrown face first onto the table. In the ring, Aguila kicks Intocable for wearing cheetah print chaps. Can’t get any gayer then cheetah print chaps. Outside the ring Zorro hits the Tijuana slam on Hator that sends him THROUGH the announce table! Tinieblas and Anibal fight up by the entrance ramp. Zorro drags Hator into the ring and hits a mean ass spinebuster on him. Anibal tries to take off Tinieblas mask, but Tinieblas fights him off. They battle to the ring, and Anibal grabs up Zorro’s kendo stick and tries to hit Tinieblas with it, but Tinieblas ducks and he nails Zorro instead. Now Tinieblas rips at the mask of Anibal. The announcers have a new table set up, and Hator grabs up Zorro and POWERBOMBS him through it. NOW THAT’S FUNNY! Hator grabs a mic and yells in Spanish. Tinieblas bodyslams Anibal on the entrance ramp. There’s the NWA-TNA logo on the rampway, not sure why. Tinieblas runs Anibal back into the ring. Hator and Aguila kick on Intocable. Tinieblas has most of Anibal’s mask ripped off. Aguila sends Intocable into the ropes. BIG BOOT! Aguila with stomps. Aguila then channels Billy Gunn and tells Intocable to SUCK IT! With those cheetah chaps on, he just might. They tie Intocable to the tree of woe, but he gets out and delivers a faceslam to Aguila. Intocable sends him into the ropes, but Aguila tries to punch him. He avoids several punches and kicks from Aguila, and turns it into a dance move. Aguila finally gets the better of him, and pounds his stomach with stiff forearms. Aguila is all business! Intocable fights back with some chops then her does a armdrag off the top rope. They spill to the outside, and Intocable clotheslines Aguila over the guardrail. Tinieblas and Anibal have a pose down, and Tinieblas sneaks in a dropkick. Anibal with a hiptoss. Tinieblas with some reverse knife edges chops. They fight to the outside, and Tinieblas goes flying into the announce table, breaking it AGAIN! Good times. Anibal brings Tinieblas back into the ring, where he gets backup from Hator. Hator is called into the ring by Zorro. Hator and Zorro exchange chops and Hator hits a backelbow. Zorro misses a dropkick, but hits a superkick that knocks Hator silly. Zorro gets to the apron, and tries a springboard headscissor, but Hator flips Zorro back outside. Hator tries to baseball slide onto Zorro, but he misses. Zorro back in the ring, backdrops Intocable into a PLANCHA onto Hator. Zorro thinks about a plancha, but Mr. Aguila SUPERKICKS him in the face instead. Now Aguila does a plancha, but he gets caught by Zorro and Intocable. They hold him, and then walk over to the guardrail and BACKROLL PRESS HIM INTO THE CROWD! Holy Shit! Aguila must have went 8 rows deep. That was AWESOME! Only in Lucha Libre can you do a spot like that. The camera pans to show Aguila, and he took out a row of KIDS! That’s fucking awesome. Not for the kids mind you, but the perverse recapper who enjoys watching people hurt. Tinieblas and Anibal do some roll ups in the ring, and Tinieblas loses his mask. He gets it back, but gets a double team assault. Zorro and Anibal hold Tinieblas down while Intocable came off the ropes with a springboard splash! Intocable holds him for the pin. Its over! Intocable and Aguila fight a bit, and Intocable gets the best of it after the bell.
WINNERS: Intocable, El Zorro, Anibal Jr.
This week’s Lucha Links are brought to you by Trish Stratus’ Ass! Its one fine booty, I’ll tell you that much.color>
– I bumped Scott Fried’s Velocity report so read it here!
– TNA Versus RAW Is only relevant for a few more weeks pre-draft.
– TNA Versus Smackdown is also only worth reading pre-draft, so check that out too.
– Speaking of the draft Larry Csonka makes some trades of his own!
– Last but not least…Hacksaw Jim Duggan starts a wrestling promotion. Or so he claims. HOOOOOOOOOOOO! Please don’t ruin TNA Hacksaw, go start your own. HOOOOOOOOOOO!
Verdict: Decent brawl. These brawls are losing their intensity though, instead of gaining intensity. A few weeks back, these teams had a brutal brawl, and now they are just sorta phoning it in. Why bring a ladder to the ring, and never use it? Still it was solid and had its moments. It reminded me of the LOD & Ahmed Johnson versus NOD six man brawl from Wrestlemania a few years back. For whatever reason.
We’re back and both teams are still arguing at the entrance ramp. Its just about main event time, but first we get a few more replays of some of the big moves. I’m still trying to wrap my head around that backroll press into the crowd. The replay shows it was maybe 5 rows back. But it was wicked regardless. Kids and old ladies getting splashed. Arturo Rivera yells a bit for some reason, I think just to get on my nerves. More replays, and its COMMERCIAL TIME!
– LLAME YA! Get the Amerikash credit Card!
– Go to Florida, and visit KISSIMEE! Go to Flordiakiss.com for more info!
– Sabado Gigante man says call 10-10-123 for all your long distance calls. SO easy to use, no wonder he uses it! Call Chile for 7 cents a minute!
– Cortislim is for fat people. If you are fat, you need this. Someone get Viscera some Cortislim already.
Its MAIN EVENT time! But before we can get down to the action, Chessman cusses and yells at Antonio Pena. Then we cut to Konnan and Cibernetico who have someone tied up backstage, with a trash bag on his head. Konnan yells in Spanish, and then rips the trash bag off the head of the guy to reveal Psicosis. Then they show Psicosis’ mask on the floor with his fake hair. Okay, color me confused. We go back to ringside for our main event ENTRANCES!
Now I understand why the TNA logo was at top of the ramp, cause there is a LLL one too. Abismo Negro has some sort of microphone, and yells out in Spanish that LLL is the best or something. It was creepy that you could hear him over the PA system. He and Chessman walk to the ring.
Konnan and Jeff Jarrett are out next. I suppose this is Konnan’s AAA theme, cause it clearly isn’t Jarrett’s TNA theme and I’ve heard them use it before. Jarrett actually starts throwing out tortilla shells into the crowd at the end of his entrance. NOW THAT’S A HEEL! I don’t know why people hate Jarrett, then man is tossing taco shells into a rabid Mexican crowd, that’s genuis.
Latin Lover comes out to a Lil Jon theme. WHAT? YEA!!!! WHAT?! YEA!??? La Parka then comes out to his Thriller theme. I still say this La Parka sucks in comparison to the REAL La Parka, but whatever. Mexico goes along with it, then so will I.
LLL vs TNA vs AAA
Abismo Negro & Chessman versus Jeff Jarrett & Konnan versus Latin Lover & La Parka
Jeff Jarrett goes over and tells Arturo to make the fans eat their tortillas, which prompts some boos and people throwing shit at Jarrett. He slides into the ring, and points to his head avoiding the plunder. Konnan is wearing his wrestling tights, which I’ve missed. Here in the states all we get is “THUG” Konnan. No shoe throwing here. The LLL & TNA guys talk strategy, while the AAA guys play up to the crowd. La Parka and Jarrett start things out, and Jarrett does his strut. We have a pose down, with the fans HATING Double J, but loving La Parka. Jarrett is playing the perfect old school heel here. Dropkick by Jarrett starts us, and he does another strut. Jarrett does a better Flair strut then Flair does anymore. Of course Jarrett is actually doing a modified FARGO strut, for you out there that care. La Parka does some dancing to impress Jeff, and then grabs Jarrett’s head and rams it into his knee. Pair of clotheslines by La Parka, then a tilt-a-whirl backbreaker on JJ. La Parka does his peeing taunt, and Jarrett rolls out of the ring. Konnan comes in from behind and lariats La Parka down. Series of right hands by Konnan. La Parka irish whips him and gets the ten punches in the corner. Konnan has had enough and runs out of the ring. Latin Lover is in next, and Jarrett wants a piece of him. Latin tries some dancing, and Jarrett is having none of it. He knocks Latin down, and works him over in the corner with punches and kicks. Jarrett starts shouting in Spanish as he does it. “UNO! DOS! TRES!” Hahaha, this is great. JJ gets caught with some punches from Latin Lover, but Konnan puts a full nelson on Latin. Jarrett comes charging at Konnan, and Latin escapes but Jarrett puts the breaks on before he hits Konnan. K-Dawg & JJ point out how smart they were not to hit one another, and Latin Lover grabs their heads….DOUBLE NOGGIN KNOCKER! Its the old proverbial meeting of the minds. Double clothesline by Latin Lover. In comes Abismo Negro, and he hammers on Latin from behind. LLL & TNA seem to be teaming up. I guess heel stick together. Abismo and Chessman do some double teaming to Latin Lover. La Parka comes in, but he ends up double teamed too. Arturo Rivera gets a PHONE call, mid match and uses the microphone to talk to the person over the PA. This makes me hate Arturo even more. Arturo continues to talk over the phone, to who I presume is Cibernetico since he keeps saying it. I’m sure SOMETHING is going on in the ring, but Arturo’s phone convo must be more interesting. Chessman is kicking Latin Lover in the ring, while Jeff Jarrett pounds on La Parka outside. Jarrett hits him with a chair, and then threatens to hit a security guard with a chair. Abismo is now working over La Parka outside the ring. Konnan clotheslines Latin Lover in the ring, and goes up top but Latin Lover catches him. As he prepares to superplex him here comes PSICOSIS! This is the original Psicosis, who I guess has made his return to AAA. So for those keeping score at home, we now have THREE Psicosises. The original, The newer AAA one who we’ve covered on this column many times, and the MINI-Psicosis. Anyway, Psicosis Version 1.0 causes team TNA to get DQed. Jarrett and Konnan are pissed, but leave with Psicosis Original Recipe. In the ring Chessman dropkicks La Parka, and then hits a Samoan drop on Parka. Suddenly Cibernetico’s music begins to play, and he comes out. During this confusion, La Parka makes a comeback and hits a top rope legdrop on Chessman. ONE, TWO, ABISMO NEGRO breaks it up. Theres some wrestling going on, but the cameras keep looking at Cibernetico. Latin Lover gets a roll up, but Abismo kicks out. Latin Lover locks on the sharpshooter, but Abismo gets out with help from Chessman. Abismo tries to BURN Latin Lover with his can of fire, but Latin avoids it. Abismo misses a top rope senton, and Latin Lover gets a La Majistral cradle, for the three count. Jarrett and Konnan attack Latin Lover, and then they attack Psicosis. Cibernetico hits a move on La Parka, and the REFEREE counts a pin? What? This prompts the face referee to SUPERKICK the heel referee, and he proclaims La Parka’s team the winner. Here comes AAA’s Psicosis, and he wants a piece of original Psicosis! They start calling the original Psicosis, El Nicho, and the other one just Psicosis! Psicosis rips off El Nicho’s mask! They brawl a bit, and here comes Antonio Pena with a bunch of AAA wrestlers. The AAA guys and the LLL guys brawl it out in the ring.
WINNERS: Team AAA (Latin Lover & La Parka)
The three teams brawl some more, and Latin Lover chases Jarrett and Konnan back to the back with a chair. Psicosis and El Nicho (Original Psicosis) brawl up and down the rampway. The LLL versus AAA massive brawl continues, and finally everyone leaves. La Parka talks to Arturo about his win. Team AAA celebrate with Antonio Pena and the boys, and that’s all the time we have.
Verdict: Well that went sour fast. Things started off well enough, with Jeff Jarrett doing the foreign heel bit. Then the match flowed pretty well, but once Psicosis #1 came down, things just went to shit. TNA’s team got DQed, and then later attacked Psicosis. Then there was a phone call. Then Cibernetico showed up. Then Psicosis #2 showed up. Then there was a brawl, Cibernetico who wasn’t even IN the match got a pin. It was just madness. Even the fans were confused. They just WAAAAY overbooked the main event. It’d been more effective to just have AAA’s team beat team LLL after Psicosis cost TNA’s team the match. The Psicosis versus Psicosis brawl showed some promise, but the match just totally sucked because of all the overbooking.
Final Thoughts: Lackluster this week. Some interesting concepts but nothing to write home about. We got a draw finish in the first bout, a average 6 man hardcore brawl, a decent kick boxing match, and a heavily overbooked main event. In fact, this was a pretty bad show. Had the main event been any good, then the show would have been a thumbs up kinda affair. Sadly the main event fell apart worse then any main event I’ve seen in a while, and the show hurt badly as a result. I hate Arturo Rivera and the fact that half the main event was covering his phone call with Cibernetico really sucked. Anyway, that’s it for this week’s lucha libre on 411, I’ll see you 7 days for more fun from south of the border. As always feel free to email me with feedback, corrections or complaints, until then!
