MMAjunkie Radio recently interviewed MMA fighter Jose Torres, who is set to fight Reynaldo Duarte at Titan FC 38. The fight card is set for later tonight on UFC Fight Pass. Here are some highlights.

Torres on training with BJ Penn: “I had a little star-struck moment there. … I’m doing fine. I’m taking him down; he’s trying to take me down. And I messed up – I tried to shoot, he scrambled, and he takes my back. … I was like OK, I’ll get out. I’ve got a big old head and a big old chin – he’s not going to get under my neck. He never did, but it was the struggle that he had to get under my neck, he was just beating the crap out of me. He just really, really, really wanted my neck. He kept punching me, kicking me, and mounting me. Once you get on the mat with B.J. Penn, there’s literally no escaping. I felt like Kenny Florian.”

Torres on facing a veteran: “They told me I had the eyes of the UFC –I wasn’t expecting that at all. So I go back in there, and I face a veteran. I can’t take this fight lightly.”
