Scott Holtzman Disappointed With How He Won At UFC Fight Night 91
While he had what some could consider a dominant win at UFC Fight Night 91, Scott Holtzman (9-1 MMA, 2-1 UFC) still wasn’t happy with his performance against Cody Pfister (12-6-1 MMA, 1-3 UFC). Holtzman won by unanimous decision with two 30-27 scores. Here are highlights:
On his performance: “(In) the UFC, to get a win is huge. Sometimes, you’re disappointed. I’m a perfectionist. You’ve got to step back from it and you’ve got to say, ‘Hey, I got a win in the UFC. It’s special.’ I gave up a couple positions. I had him mounted twice. I gave that up. Things like that will lose you a fight at the highest level. Luckily, it didn’t lose me this fight, but down the line it could. Last fight, I lost a couple positions and it lost me the fight against Drew Dober.”
On his future: “I think at the end of the day, when you step back from it, I’m 9-1. I’m a baby in this sport. I don’t have a lot of miles on my body as far as MMA. I feel like I’m just getting started. Obviously, I have some stuff to work on. It showed out there. But I’m anxious to get back to work. I’m disappointed I lost a couple positions, but I’m excited for what’s to come and taking on anybody. I want to keep building.”
