Samuel L. Jackson to Co-Star in Chris Rock’s Saw Reboot
Nick Fury himself, Samuel L. Jackson, is set to co-star in Chris Rock’s new Saw reboot. The Wrap reports that Jackson, fresh off his latest stint as Nick Fury in Spider-Man: Far From Home, will co-star with Rock, Max Minghella and Marisol Nichols in the reboot of the horror franchise, which Rock came up with the story for. Darren Lynn Bousman is directing the movie, which is in production now.
Jackson will play the father of Rock’s character, a police detective investigating a series of grisly crimes. Minghella will play Rock’s police partner William Schenk, while Nichols plays their boss, Capt. Angie Garza.
Rock is also executive producing the film alongside Daniel Heffner, James Wan, and Leigh Whannell, with Mark Burg and Oren Koules producing. The script was written by Pete Goldfinger and Josh Stolberg.
“We think Samuel L. Jackson and Chris Rock along with Max Minghella and Marisol Nichols make this film completely special in the Saw canon and we can’t wait to unleash this unexpected and sinister new story on fans of this franchise. This is next level of ‘Saw’ on full tilt,” Joe Drake, chairman of the Lionsgate motion picture group, said.
The film does not yet have a title or release date.
